Now that's one major bummer, Schoppy!

We'll try to remember you'll be in no mood to "jawbone" or "hogjaw" for a while.

No fun taking a header in your own backyard, yet! Be well soon.

UPDATE:

Thank-you everyone for your well wishes. :)

The first surgeon I saw could not fix it so he sent me to another one. :(
I just got a call from the second surgeon and I see him on the 31st.
Im still on hydrocodone for the pain and the swelling is going down.
I can feel the broken part moving around and it feels really weird.
I just hope that THIS surgeon can fix it without having my jaw wired shut.

The first part of May is an auto race and im taking my nephew to see it (we already have our tickets) :D
Im hoping that im not wired shut for it.

JAW UPDATE::

Well I saw my surgeon and they want to wait to see if it heals on its own.
It is broke just below my right ear next to the henge.
In a way im glad that the surgery has been postponed, but im getting tired of eating oatmeal,

There is an auto race on May 10th and one way or the other im going to it.
I already have tickets for my nephew and I to go to it.
I may have to take a plastic bowl and my oatmeal
YUMM cold oatmeal hehe

I go back to the surgeon on May 19.
IF it hasent healed by then, they will have to operate and put in a metal plate to fix it.

schoppy,

Add my best wishes for your healing, whether on its own or with surgery. My experience with opiates has been that they really interfere with bowel management. Although I hope your experience with hydrocodone is better than mine, a still better outcome will be when you can tell us that you no longer need any pain killer, let alone that one.

If you're going to an auto race, please stay out of the way of flying debris, OK?

Hi, Schoppy. What's the latest on your jaw?

Sorry for the late update.

In a nut shell, they waited soo long that my jaw reattached the broken off part.
But it is not properly lined up so I do have a little problem with my teeth coming together properly.
They will not do surgery at this time. I'm glad because I wasn't looking forward to getting cut on again.
The pain is 95% gone and the swelling is gone, to thats good. I just gotta learn that my bite is off so I gotta be careful when I eat.
