I don't know many people who think Depend makes good products. But the Real Fit underwear, for me, are among the best available. They fit great, they're discreet, and I've never had one leak due to a defect.

But they're still made by Depend, so they're not very absorbent, their odor control isn't very good, and they lack some of the nice-to-have features, like standing leak guards.

When Depend came out with the Real Fit undies, I thought, Man, this is going to be great when Tena, Abena, et al, get hold of that stretch shell material and make underwear that fit well and can last longer than a couple hours. But so far, nothing.

Do you suppose Depend holds a patent on the material, or an exclusive deal with the manufacturer of it? There's already a generic version of the Depend Silhouette at my local Walgreen, so I don't think that's it. What do you suppose it holding this up?

Sure would be nice to have a better version of the Real Fits.

For many of us, pull-ups just don't work. Having to remove shoes and pants every 90 minutes to change is not a step forward.

Good point! They are not very handy like that, Might work when wearing shorts but still a pain to change.

The only good suggestion I saw on one website was to wear several of the pants on top of each other as the used one can be torn off leaving a fresh one to use. Of course, with the bulk of 2 or 3 one might just as well have a standard nappy (diaper) and it will probably last a lot longer too!

Wheels, I agree with you about the bulkiness of wearing more than one pull up, especially the high quality ones that actually work. However, some of us don't have the hand control or the vision or both to be dealing with tapes or fasteners on a brief and/or are not completely incontinent and still use a toilet when we can, so pull ups work better in that situation. Changing is a problem, but I use the high quality ones that will get me through most or all of the time I need to be out in public.
