It's a little early but I live in Florida. It's mid January and its 80 degrees. I'm going to an indoor pool soon for a birthday party. I am considering the sosecure swim diaper for my bowel incon. Has anyone used this? It looks high quality and I suspect it will do what I need. I swim a lot from May to September. So it has to last. I tried Gabbys swim diapers, but they didn't stay in place and I experienced a bowel leak at a public pool. One leak was all it took to lose faith. So I'm looking for something more snug. I think I like the sosecure brief. If you have experience with this, please let me know.

Have you considered an enema before swimming? If you can clear out the bulk of your lower intestine you could buy yourself up to 33* hours of time before the system fills back up.

Thanks for the advice, however, I'm not a fan of putting an enema in my bottom. Plus, I'm not sure what effect an enema would have on me. I have liquid stool from a harsh medication I take. I have multiple bowel movements a day. So I believe a quality swim diaper is necessary for me to enjoy the pool with my family. My problem is classified as dumping syndrome. I literally eat and my body has a very fast transit time. I can have a bowel movement shortly thereafter and my body will get minimal nutrients. It's a miserable condition and I have frequent bowel incontinence from all the liquid stool. It effects several of my labs and I have to supplement.

I talked to a user of the Sosecure swim diaper who assured me the quality was top notch and I would be pleased. I also spoke with the manufacturer today and discussed the product with them. I made my purchase this morning. If I like it, I'll buy a second one to have a spare.

I bought a similar looking swim diaper from XPMedical. It worked really well when I was doing pool therapy. It even kept me from being embarrassed when my bladder decided it wanted to drain as I was heading out of the pool. No leaks.

That sounds great Doug. Just what I need. I have embarrassed myself at the pool before and it's a painful experience. One I don't want to repeat. I'm willing to pay for quality and peace of mind.

I received my sosecure swim diaper today. It was too big. I bought the size based on my waist and hip measurements on the web site. There was too much room. I compared what I looked like in the product to the model in the picture and they didn't jive. So I called discovery trekking and they are sending me a replacement in a smaller size tomorrow. I have to send mine back. So I can't speak for the product, but their customer service has been top notch. I look forward to getting a smaller size and trying it out.

Sounds like they will get you taken care of. Discovery Trekking is the company that made the one I bought. It was a little roomy but not too big. They do run very close to the measurements in most cases. If you are close the the bottom of the size it is sometimes better to order the next size down.

I just got my replacement swim diaper in from discovery trekking. I tried it on and it seems to be exactly what I want. The fit is great. I just had to order one size down. I can't wait to go swimming now...with more confidence.

I use these and they work great. Currenlty I use it for pool pt even though it does absob a little urine I put a infant prefold in them and it protects me from walking from the locker room to the pool. I used them last year as well and what I did was used a size 6 baby diaper and took it out prior to going swiming and replaced it afterwards and I was able to hang around the pool like everyone else. I do not have bowel IC but for urinary IC it has worked well for me. Hope this help good luck.

I have had some time to try out my SoSecure swim diaper and found it to be a top performer. I bought a second one to have a spare.

I have also heard that in the past, pool therapy and rehab places will not let an incontinent person enter the pool unless they are protected. It's for everyone's health and safety. I am bladder and bowel incontinent and I know I would be mortified if I had a bowel event in the pool without a swim diaper. I don't trust my body functions anymore as they are so unpredictable. I get no warning and I leak so diapers of some fashion are a part of my life.
