I'm not sure if any adults have used this drug, but it helps me control my wetting. The drug is DDAVP which now is available as a generic as "Desmopressin Acetate". This drug helps out kids bedwetting at night. How it has helped me is it slows my wetting down during a 8 to 12 hour period being day or night. When I need to go somewhere like an amusment park or a long day of where I can't get to a bathroom to change my diaper, I use this drug and my wetting slows way down. I do not take it around the clock since it sort of makes your kidneys concentrate your urine, so you produce less of it. But it does cause me to wet more as the drug wears off. Usually I'm off it at night and I just wear a thicker diaper and I'm set for the next day.
It helped me out a lot when my family went down to Disney World for a week years ago. I've been using this drug for many years. My uroligist said it helps out a lot of adults this way. The side effects are very monor, and I usally got none except for a mild headache.
Has anybody had any success with this drug?........Paul

My urologist prescribed DDAVP for me several years ago for bedwetting. The drug greatly reduces the number of wet nights but not 100% of them. When using the drug at night I went from wetting every night to about 4-5 nights per month. Since I sleep in bed with my wife and I never know which night will be wet, I wear a diaper every night just in case. I finally quit using it at night since I was wearing a diaper anyway, and the drug actually cost more than the diaper ($50 copay for 30 pills) so the lowest cost solution to bedwetting was to just use a diaper.

I still use the pills, but as Paul said, they are more useful in the daytime than at night. Not only are they handy in situations where rest room facilities are not readily available, but they are great for conferences, lectures, and meetings where you need to remember what took place. One of the effects of DDAVP (or desmopressin) is short term memory enhancement that lasts for several hours. See these articles: http://www.antiaging-systems.com/a2z/desmopressin.htm and http://www.biogenesis-antiaging.com/p47 ... n-(Minirin)/product_info.html. The tests were for the nasal spray but the pills work also, you might need to take one a little earlier.

College students would be lining up at their doctors’ complaining of bedwetting if they knew this.
