Bambino recently started importing the Maxi. They're a little pricey, $115.20 for a case of 72 medium, but I'm planning on buying some to show Tena that there's demand for the superior product in the US.

Thanks for that info, nothingtoseehere,

Diaperdan posted a note (elsewhere) asking about Eurobrief which brought back memories for me; going back to the 90's before we had all the decent diapers we now have!

European diapers were way ahead of USA diapers back then, with the Eurobrief and the Tena Slip Maxi being two examples of high capacity diapers.

I discovered the Tena Slip Maxi back in 1997 while on a trip to Ireland. I recall being astounded by the performance and brought a lot back with me, as we had nothing in the US to compare with the European technology. Tena USA made/makes a totally different product that is not up to the Tena Slip in perfomance. There is some non-compete thing that precludes Tena USA from offering the superior European Tena.

I'd consider a trip down memory lane and get some Tena Slip Maxis but the high cost stops me. We are fortunate now to have comparable diapers in the US selling for much less than the $1.60 or so per diaper you need to pay for the Eurobrief and Tena Slip.

I remember going to Victoria BC Canada many years ago and finding a medical store. Picked up some of the super pads they had and was amazed at how much better they were than what we had in the US. Don't even remember the brand but they were yellow plastic backed in a figure "8" style. Kind of like the Tena Day Plus pads we can get here now.

I wasn't impressed with them. The tapes were so tiny and it has no leak guards. When it got 3/4 full the padding in it separated. Not worth the money!

I still order my Abena pullups (L3) from XP Medical. I've also tried Depends Real Fit, which although not nearly as effective as the Abenas, are a little more comfortable since there's much less padding. But I don't need that much during the day.

Has anyone tried Abena's L1 lightweight pullup? I've never seen them available but think they might do for me except at night.
