Hey diaperdan, it looks like they may have upgraded and modified this device since it first came out. I tried it several years ago, but could not for the life of me get a seal that lasted any longer the 2 hours if that, and I could not trust it at all. It seems now that the wrap is attached to the actual device, that would make things easier, but I will stay with the externals that I use now, total trust, and not a leak in a very long time, the skin prep helps with that, and with any skin irritation as well. May be a viable option for some men though, and it is nice to be dry for the night too! Puffy

I tried external caths several years ago at the suggestion of a doctor. I'm sort of a restless sleeper and had many leaks. They are not something I could wear during the day as I am an active individual both at work and at play. Maybe the products have become better but I can't see where I'd have the independence I get with a diaper. If there is a cath that stays put all night then I'd be more than willing to try it.

These catheters are made of a hydro-colloid material. They will not come off unless you put a releasing agent on to take it off. I toss and turn and it stays put. I have extra long tubing on my night bag.

I didn't think Schoppy gave you permission to write this. As we said in the military...."In God we trust, all others we verify!"

Everybody,
I am sorry that I have been a bother to anyone. I thought I was trying to help people. I will not be back on the boards.

Diaperdan--

I don't think anyone was bothered. Don't be offended. I believe your intention is to help, and that is welcome here. I think the feedback was that your post sounded a bit too much like a commercial. That is forgivable.

Sandy

Ten diapers in a day is not that far out.

Using a Foley Catheter 24/7 I keep track of how much urine I empty from the bag and it on average gets emptied every two hours the amount will be 700ml up to 1200ml.
With that much wetness in a diaper even a Molicare is wet and heavy so I would change every couple of hours I don’t like being wet.
I don’t see how anyone if they drink the amount of fluid he or she should can go all day without a change.

Reading some back post some say a catheter will not let them be active here again I don’t find that at all if anything I am more active.
Up until a few years ago I was still racing motorcycles in the seniors class love hunting big game firearms hiking and photographer of wild life I was an outdoors man.

Up until a few years ago I used a condom catheter a good deal of the time without any problems. When were out or away from home or traveling my supplies were a clean catheter every day all my supplies for the time away from home fit into a small plastic Zip-Lock bag.

Diaperdan may have been over zealous but I think his heart was in the right place.
I have used those catheters he was talking about when they first came on the seen but did not like them I used the Mentor condom catheter.

But as I posted before my medical problems have gotten worse so now I use a Foley Catheter 24/7 these days and find them to let me be even more active if the rest of my body just would go along with it.
The Foley dose have their problems but so does diapers.

I still do a lot of photography time at the range shooting and I hunt locally anymore and my wife and my self like to travel as much as possible so no Foley Catheter dose not slow me down.
