Ohhhh, been there, having flashbacks, let's just say it was NOT a good time... I have had prostatitus for many years, comes and goes, not really bothersome, but makes my urgency worse. I had the groin pain around 10 or so years ago, it turned out to be a rather nasty infection that pretty well incapacitated me for 4 months, tried the antibioticws to no avail. Felt like the worst case of blue balls, X1000... I finally couldn't take it any longer and told the Uro I saw about it to just remove the testicle, I can make do with one, and not having any kids at this point in life, so infertility as a possible risk was a non-factor. He opted to do the operation, but to only remove the epydidimus tubing, which is the the coiled tube on the back of the testicle. Turns out far too many men have this problem, some attributed to having a vasectomy, which I didn't have (got half of one now!

) It is called epididymitis, can also be caused by an STD, which I am not active with anyone for way too long and tested clean. The operation is a 1 in 100 long shot to get rid of the pain, but I got very fortunate as I have not had a flare up since it was taken out. This may be something you can ask your doc about. The Uro linked the prostatitus as the cause of the infection. If it didn't work for me, the testicle was next... put in a fake one and nobody but me would know the difference... glad I never had to go that route, but would have to get rid of that pain. Hope this gives you some insight, search the web, there are many good sites based on this.

http://forums.bettermedicine.com/showth ... ididymitis have good info. A search on "epididymitis forum" will also get you some info. I hope this is not what you have, but worth talking to the doc about. Puffy (with 1/2 a vasectomy!)
