You are welcome; I think you'll be fine with the fit of the medium Wellness. It is a light blue color and only has the wetness indicator, a light yellow double line that turns blue as the diaper gets wet....typical of many disposables. There are no markings; size is indicated by color of the plastic back sheet. The large are a light green.

And, if you would, let us know what you think after trying it; others are in your same situation as to fit and many others are waiting to see how folks like the Wellness compared to Abena.

This may seem a dumb question, but what's with these wetness indicators I keep reading about? I never need to check a wetness indicator to see how wet I am! Maybe they're for those caring for bedridden people who aren't able to change themselves?

That is correct.

I ordered two cases of Wellness Briefs this morning... one for myself and one for my wife.

no coupon code accepted, only thing I can think of that I didn't look at was I went through it as unregistered, and that may be it, I am not sure... Do you need to have a registered account to get "said" shipping and special cost? Worth a look for me for another product, but just more of "wondering" as I always like to have back-up suppliers. XP Medical was the same, super high shipping to get anything to Canada, not worth it in the long run, but if shipping was included, then it is a viable option... :? Puffy

It's not the seller that sets the shipping costs, it's the shipping company that sets them.

Thank you for pointing this out
- as the owner of DryDiapersPlus.ca - I can say that we don't set the shipping prices - those are real time rates that (when you put in your shipping information) Canada Post is quoting you at the time of the order. It is completely beyond our control.

We are a small company, so we don't get the shipping discounts that companies like Steve's gets. Because Steve has a huge amount of volume (because it's such an excellent product) shipping out from his warehouse - he's able to negotiate better shipping rates with his shipping company.

However, we are a small company - we don't have the volume that Steve does. If you were to take the sample down to your local post office and ship them - you would see the same price (for the samples) as you do on your order. For us, when we send the samples, they are sent from our Corporate office in BC - and we go to the local post office to mail samples. For us to ship 1 sample brief - it's a minimum $11, plus taxes & fuel surcharges just to ship to Vancouver! (we're just outside of Victoria)

HOWEVER, our cases and bags are shipped from our warehouse in Markham, ON - and because of the volume that they ship out - we do get a small break on costs - which we pass on to you. Having said that - unless you enter in your shipping information - you won't know what the shipping is. You can always place a 'mock order' - just to see what shipping is before you make your decision.

Pretty soon, we will probably be switching over to a flat rate system like other companies. In Canada, many other quality adult incontinence briefs ship out for around $99-$108 - which is their case cost plus the shipping included and marketed as a flat rate.

What we recommend to our customers when they call in is that if they are truly interested in the Unique Wellness Super Absorbent Adult Briefs, that it does make sense (fiscally) to try the case - since shipping for a case isn't much more than shipping for a sample. These briefs are so soft (ie comfortable!) and absorbent. You won't be disappointed in them.

Please feel free to ask any questions - contact me any time.

I hope this is ok with the moderators - I didn't come here to market my site, or Unique Wellness, but when I read the post about shipping costs - I really wanted to just explain why the shipping costs work they way they do.

Just remember too - that the quotes below - are your choice of how fast you want them to arrive. I can't see that price being for just 1 sample... it looks more like 2 cases. However, either way, we like to give our customers the option to choose how quickly their order arrives - because some of our customers want their adult briefs to arrive in only a day - and others can wait 5-7 days...
Quote:
*Thursday - January 5, 2012 - $162.72, 2 days to delivery, CANADA POST PRIORITY COURIER Service
*Friday - January 13, 2012 - $54.48, 10 days to delivery, CANADA POST REGULAR Service
*Tuesday - January 10, 2012 - $62.48 7 days to delivery

So, for "Puffy Pants" - Wellness Briefs does not have a Canadian site. The site you were looking at was DryDiapersPlus.ca - and we are the only authorized distributors for Unique Wellness in Canada http://drydiapersplus.ca/store.php/products/unique_wellness_super_absorbent_brief_case.

For "Dennis" - you measure yourself at the widest part - which for you are your hips (by your measurements) - so the Small/Medium should work for you - as they fit to 36".

These briefs have 4 taped tabs so are very customizable.

For "Fred1959", the wetness indicators serve a number of different clientele. There are a number of people who have nerve damage (could be from spinal cord injuries or what have you), so they can't feel the wetness. People with mental illness or other cognitive issues - that have caretakers who care for them. Rather than have someone come up and keep opening the back of your pants to check to see the wetness by sticking their hands down to feel the dampness, the wetness indicator is a visual check to see wet/dry levels), then there are those who are bedridden, etc.

I hope I was able to help answer some of the questions listed here. Again - if there's anything I can do, questions I can answer, please don't hesitate to contact me. We do have a 'contact us' page on our website that you can send questions through.

Tammy

PS For those in Canada who want to try the Unique Wellness - Steve has authorized a sale for us as well - save $10/case by using the coupon code "thanks2"

I ordered a sample of these a long time ago then pretty much forgot about them.

The sale over the holidays was enough to convince me to get a case for myself and a case for my wife. After trying them for a week we're both sold on them. Ordered another two cases today.

Thanks "PuddleGuy" for the great review! It's always good to order samples if you can to try them out - but usually 1 sample really isn't enough to show you that 'the proof is in the pudding!".

Glad to see that you ordered the case during the holiday sale - and really gave them a good try - and that now you're a happy, satisfied, customer!

With all this talk on the Wellness brief, I ordered a sample. I got 2 mediums and 2 large because I heard the sizing is a bit off. Also, I talked to a friend about the Wellness brief who had experience with them and he said the Wellness diaper has a habit of tearing in the seat portion. Does anyone else have experience with this? I am a firm believer in the Abena product and I think that all other diaper manufacturers try to copy them because they set the standard. But if they go to a cloth like backing, I will have to switch. My next diaper in line will probably be the Molicare diaper. I consider that to be second best. So I ordered a sample of Molicare and Wellness to try them both.

If Abena does make the switch....where is the cheapest and most reliable supplier of the Wellness diaper in case I go that route?
