I am not a big fan of disposables to start with, but when I travel they are the best option. I use the Abena x-plus. I've tried plastic pants over disposables, and they do not make much difference with leaks or noise. I have found that the Abena Abri-fix cotton stretch pants cut down on the noise and hold the disposable closer to the body. The Abri-fix cotton stretch pants are 'cut to fit over diapers, so they work better than mens "tidy whites" when it comes to fit. The abri-fit seems to increase the diaper's 'usable' capacity too. Traveling over night I use the Abnia x-plus with a booster and plastic pants. At night I use a hotel towel between the plastic pants and disposable to catch the small leaks that always seem to occur. I am using Tena Maxi Slips (in then UK) and I find there is always a small amount of leak so I wear a pair of cotton trunks over the Tena and plastic pants on top. This contains and absorbs the leaks quite ell I rarely have any leaks outwith the plastic pants.

I tried Abena the other week but as not too impressed but I tried a Molicare last night and reckon it was better than the Tena. The trouble is the cost - Tena at about 70p and Molicare at around £1 but I might try a case of the Molicare to see how they work out.

I was about 25 (I'm 63½ now). I wear either a Abena X-Plus, plastic pants and cotton long leg briefs over everything. I also find that the polyurethane pants last FAR longer than the pure vinyl. Well worth the extra cost.

The plastic pants won't stop a leak but they will retain enough that I won't wear a diaper (disposable or otherwise) without them plus it gives me a warning and time to get changed before the leak gets really bad!

What works for me is the atn diapers and a pair of euroflex plastic pants over them.The euroflex plastic pants are a lot cooler than just plain plastic pants.

I wear a nylon type pants over my daytime disposable diaper. It, too, breaths and allows no sweating. Plus, diaper rash creams will not effect the lining. They last a long time.

I've been using alot of the wide waist/leg band pants from Gary. I really like the snug fit. And they do help prevent leaks at least for me. I've also been wearing lots of the waist band Attends with a booster of course. (boy what I'd give to have the old attends back) You know how crinkly those Attends are Can't here a thing with the Gary pants over them:D .........................Sandy

The "euroflex" is a "brand" name for polyurethane. And as I said, the polyurethane lasts far longer than regular plastic. Unless I can't avoid it I won't buy regular plastic pants.

I just bought a pair of standard vinyl pants because I wanted the slimmer style. They're not made to go over cloth, only thin disposables, but I wear Abena M4 or equiv so I had to order one size larger.

ATN's are not absorbent enough for me and I had to add doublers to them at night.

I had a pair of Suprema (I think thats what theyre called) plastic pants. I tried wearing them over my Abena's but they were just too hot. And man, those things are huge. They swallow me. I could never wear them out and about. I have some plain white plastic pants I got from Gary at XPmedical. They work pretty good. I can wear those in public. But I find that just wearing a diaper underneath clothing is not too hot. I generally dont sweat too bad. The suprema's over an xplus at night was just too hot. I got the supremas when I was trying out cloth. They fit over the cloth diapers pretty easily. It was just too much bulk for me.

I've been in diapers since 1987 and have always worn plastic pants over my disposables. Back when I started in diapers the selection was limited and pretty awful compared to what we have now. Of all that I have tried, the Gary pull-ons work best for me. I use both the 4mm and 7mm, and obviously prefer the wide elastics when I can get them. The plastic pants won't contain a large leak, but since seepage is the worst I usually have to deal with they work fine. The also muffle the sound of the diaper a bit and provide some concealment (at a distance, plastic pants showing between the waist of my pants and my shirt could look like underwear, but a diaper is pretty hard too mistake for anything else...probably wishful thinking, but you never know).

Abena make a cloth concealer in the style of a cotton brief. If you have concerns of your diaper, and/or plastic pants ever showing from your back, I would recommend the use of the Abena brief style concealer. I still think KINS makes the best plastic pants. They make one style called the "Lowrider" that is NOT a lowrider pant, but is does have a tight fit to it without all the excess material that some plastic pants have. Having a tighter fit also compresses the diaper some and they are comfortable to wear. Just my thoughts
