I have urge incontinence for which I use Abena Super and X plus. Recently I got a little brave when I didn't have any accidents for a few days. I went 3 whole days with minor dribbling. So I thought my incontinence was improving. I went out and bought some depend guards and decided to use those. Bad idea. I was out with my son for the day and we were out shopping for some woodworking craft ideas. He's 4. When we left the hardware store I got this sudden unmistakable urge that was strong and I couldn't hold back. I completely soaked my clothes. The guard/pad I was wearing was of no use whatsoever. I made it out of there as fast as possible, took my son, and drove straight home. I'm hoping nobody saw me. How embarrassing; I'll never do that again.

Don,

I think it is safe to say that just about every one of us who has lost bladder control has suffered some sort of a public embarrassing "accident". I know I've had a few myself. My worst public accident not only soaked my jeans (legs and all) but I left a large puddle on the floor. I normally don't wet a great deal at one time (just seep pretty much all the time) but once and a while I have a gusher. At the time of my worst public accident I was with a friend who knew nothing of my bladder control problems. He had stopped by mt house to see if I would quick go out and look at a truck on display in our local mall. When he stopped I was not wearing a diaper and without thinking I hopped in with him. I figured we'd only be gone a few minutes and that I'd make it just fine. How wrong I was. My friend helped me out of the mall and wanted to take me to the ER but I convinced him that I was prone to wetting accidents because I was not able to control my bladder functions. For the next couple of years he treated me like I was some sort of a porcelain doll but he eventually figured out that I'm not going to break. Several of my friends know about my incontinence and that I wear protection to manange it. Most of the time they don't say a thing about it except for a few times when I might have been in a bad mood they asked if my diaper was on too-tight. Believe it or not this was a relief to me knowing that they accepted it enough to make light of it in a good way.

I've only been dealing with incontinence for a few months but I've already learned a lesson once or twice. I drip and dribble day and night, but the severity varies considerably. Once I drove thirty miles from home without protection because my dripping had been so slight for a couple of days. Of course, it started up again and I ended up with a sizable wet spot on the front of my pants. Another time I went to bed without my pullup since I was dripping very slowly and wanted to air myself out a bit. I woke up at 5:30 in the morning in a pretty good puddle.

Sandy,
I was wondering if you might reply to this. As a long time member as you your self are, I remember all your post about your embarrassing situations. You could write a book!........Paul Martin
