Well with my Dr since I thought at the time I was just sweating really badly under the belt area I asked (via email as she is on holidays) her if I could try something to absorb the "sweat" she said absorbent pads were a really good idea because of the rashes I would get nearly on a daily basis she agreed the next day I saw my caseworker and he apparently spoke to a nurse about my symptoms as I accidentally leaked ("Sweat"?) on his leather chair without knowing it a couple times (he never spoke to me about it) and that nurse thinks it could be an issue with bladder so until at least my G.P comes back and does tests I have to wear Depend's super underwear for men (as I live in australia) sometime smells of strong urine I really don't know how to accept if I could be Incont.

Also sometimes I feel that I sometimes dripple few times a day.

Also my friends and I started to notice that while in public I need to rush to the bathroom very frequently every 30mins - 1hr just for just a few dribbles and I have noticed very rarely I have let a little dribble here and there into the "Protection" as sometimes its a little yellow when I change but you have to look very closely for it as well as the "dribbling feeling"(which I haven't told G.P but knows I wear due to "sweating" not even believe its just sweat anymore). Scary as I don't know what is causing it at the moment I am humoring my G.P as she is testing for diabetes as we both don't think thats it as I had a full blood test due to Bipolar meds about a couple of months a go and it would have shown and psychiatrist would have said something and my G.P is also ordered a urine sample as well. I asked her if could be bladder she said she didn't think so.

So don't know and concerned and scared I could becoming incontinent

Not too sure what to feel or how to accept that I have to wear and if I am incont?

Hope this makes sense

Hi Tom 23
Sorry to here of your issues. I'm hoping one of the Guy's will jump in here. Being I'm a woman I'm afraid I'm maybe not going to be the best at helping you. But I'll give it a shot

First off I'd say be honest with yourself and your doctor. Let the doctor do the tests and find out what is going on. Maybe it's just something simple.

Another thing I would look at is what the side affects are of the meds. you maybe taking are? Have you started taking anything new?

Be happy your just dealing with a little dribble and not full floods :)
To me it sounds like pullups are over kill did you try male guards

If you are becoming incontinent please try not letting yourself get to down. It's not the end of the world there are far worse things that could happen. You came to the right place for support. I'm sure the guy's will jump in and offer their advice :D

Thanks Sandy for replying

I don't think it can be medications as I am not taking any at the moment I use pull ups because of the so called "sweating issue" down there I couldn't kept underwear dry down there even in Winter so I would end up painful rashes on daily basis (tried everything from Chemist and G.P) which since wearing haven't had a rash tried Guards but kept moving around as I wear boxers as well as haven't left any marks on furniture.

Ok so it's not drugs? I understand about the moving thing I've heard other guys talk about that

When it comes to Rashes I'm a firm believer that diet can often times play a big part in rashes. Many years ago I use to eat lots of Soda Coffee fast food junk food etc. I use to get some nasty rashes. But once I got rid of the above stuff The rashes became few and far between. And to top it off I felt better as well :D

Hi Tom 23: Sorry to hear what you are going through. Your situation sounds similar to how I got started here.

First, like Sandy said, tell your doctor the whole story. The more info she has the better equipped she will be to help. And if you can get to a specialist like a Urologist, then even better. They may be better informed and able to deal with such a situation.

In the meantime, I'm with Sandy: pull ups may be a bit much. Keep in mind, boxers are not good for guards. I suggest switching to briefs. They will hold all things in their proper place.

Hang in there ... And don't let this get you down. There are ways around it and ways to work through it. You just got to find what works best given the situation.

Hey Tom!

It's amazing..your story sounds a lot like mine.. Mine turned out to be detrusor-sphincter dyssernigia... that's a type of voiding dysfunction where the pelvic floor does not relax all the way.. I found relief for my symptoms, and wear regular underwear again (YES) after 1 1/2 hellish years of wearing diapers.

I know what youve gone through.. anyone on this board will tell you that for a while, going to the bathroom frequently was my life..

You mentioned you are taking medication for bipolar disorder. Believe it or not, psyciatric medications have been known to affect the bladder. In my case, catapres we believe was causing retention.

And i agree with ILuvLA, see a urologist.

Do you find that you only have daytime trouble, and not night time? if so, you may have what i have, a voiding dysfunction, rather a problem with the bladder muscle itself. I know EXACTLY what you mean about the "sweating" thing..

Bottom line is, you dont have a whole lot to worry about unless you actually see yourself gush urine unexpededly.. but do see a doctor. Incontience problems may get worse if untreated.

Keep your chin up and keep going! If i can get dry, so can you!

Not sure about sleep wetting issues but I wear them just in case.

I just texted my G.P about seeing an urologist is a good idea as well as ask her if it was helpful going to continence clinic so I can find the right protection.

What does an urologist do eg. what kinds of tests etc and what does a continence clinic do? As I will be discussing this with her at tomorrows appt

Also new symptom...

before I would get urges to go to the restroom about every 20 -30mins while out now I don't get them I just leak instead (still very small amount just more often even at home scared) any advise as it is really affecting me mentally.

Also been under more stress constantly.

So sorry for you Tom, I remember how it feels. Devastating!

All we can do is listen to our doctors and urologists, and the advice which they give, then make-up our own minds as to an appropriate solution......which will differ, of course, from one person to another. We can only make those decisions on the basis of the information which we are given.

Many years ago, I was very scared, like you, also, and went through many humiliating tests. Yet, twenty-years-on, I really enjoy my life. My inco does not prevent me, in any way, from enjoying life to the full.

Have a good attitude, as I am sure you will, and life will become good.......

Best wishes to you.

G.

Tom, A urologist visit would be a great plan but I think you may need to see a neurologist too as leaking anything without get the 'urge' first suggests the possibility of neurological problems.

Get on to your GP again and suggest that too.

Tom,
I have Bipolar disorder too. Type 1 and its very severe. I just got out of the hospital where I spent 5 days in the psych ward undergoing a medication change. I changed from depakote to Lithium. Lithium causes urinary frequency which can lead to urge incontinence which is what I have. Psychiatric drugs do cause bladder problems, so don't rule them out. I have been to many urologists and evaluated by many psychiatrists who are all in agreement that my medication regimen is giving me a neurogenic bladder so to speak. I have been on detrol, vessicare, enablex, gelnique, and imipramine. None have worked! So I have resorted to diapers.
