Has anyone tried the new Attends extended wear diapers? I was visiting xp medical and saw that they had included these in there diaper testing. They seem a little pricey but I suppose that has to do with them being American made.

I tried them when they first came out.

They remind me of the "old" attends from several years ago... before Attends turned to garbage. They are thick and comfortable, but cloth backed (which I don't like)... and they are VERY expensive.

IMO Abenas are a better value.

My two cents says stick with the regular Attends with the waist band and add a booster. For me I like the contour booster by Tranquility. Without the booster I find the diaper to be rather worthless in my opinion. I would have to agree the Abena is a much better choice for the money

I agree,.....the Abena X-Plus is probably one of the best disposables on the market. However, they are not cheap. I'm using Depends with a pad/liner right now and that seems to work pretty well for me. Currently, I'm receiving my meds and Depends free of charge (supplied by the VA) so the price is right.

Thanks to all for your opinion on the Attends extended wear diaper. I too am sold on the Abena extra plus diapers. Yes, they do cost more, however I am sold on the level of security they provide.

I almost always wear a booster pad in mine as the combination gives me the utmost in protection. I left for work this morning at seven and returned home twelve hours later. Today was a heavier than usual wetting for me and I was soaked when I got home but I didn't soak through!

I've never been able to make even an X-plus last 12 hours. For me the booster pads are uncomfortable and make the diaper leak around the leg openings.

I have been wearing the X-plus almost exclusively to work for the past few months. I don't mind the bulk and they haven't let me down yet.

Puddleguy. I have been using Tena pads in my diapers. I always punch holes in the back sheet before pulling off the adhesive strip. As for the twelve hours in the same diaper, I will agree that I was pushing it to the limits.

It was not my intention nor my routine practice to do so. I was on my way home from one job and received a plumbing call for another customer and stupidly said I'd be right over. My diaper was thoroughly wet when I got the call and my heavy wetting during that day, well, let's just say I was on borrowed time. If this heavy wetting continues I will be carrying a diaper bag like everyone else just in case. Happy New Year!!

Plumber eh?

Well, at least with the diaper you don't have to worry about the typical "plumber's crack" problem. :D

Happy New Year,

I have both extra absorbent and extended wear, but use the more discreet style mostly. Aside from the problems with pin hole leaks they are really capable of holding big voids, but it is more difficult to conceal the "diaper butt" for daytime use. I know many here do not care for the cloth backing, but I do like the added sound barrier they provide. For now, away from home and travel I do use the extended wear and other types such as ATN and Abena.

If it were not for the pin hole leaks and the need to wear plastic pants, I think the comfort level would be ideal with a snug pair of briefs, and it would also minimize the bulk. Perhaps then, the extended wear would work out for me. The extended wear work great at night, without the need to change until morning.

I think I bought my first case of extended wear a couple of years ago, and a few since then. I have noticed improvements in the taping, but nothing has changed otherwise since the last purchase a few months ago.

what about the pin hole leaks? Is this a common problem with Attends or did it just happen once?
