I think we all have some of that devil in us. I know I do, and without humour we would live a boring life. Having incontinence can bring about some touchy scenarios, and embarassments, and smokescreening some of that with humour works for me.

I'm no expert in incontinence products/diapers when it comes to value, but I guess I am in what works for me. I've heard of the the pin hole thing, which I beleive is a manufacturer defect, but how frustrating to be wearing this only to spring a leak away from home. But, ya do what ya gotta do with your budgets, and if e-bay buying is hit and miss and you are willing to gamble with defects or inferior diapers, let it be a learning experience.

I have my issues down to a science, and really quite comfortable with the daily routine, but still plan ahead. I only buy the best, mostly disposable, but re-usable too. The important things for me are security and comfort. Don't want to go about my business wondering whether what I'm wearing is going to fail or hold up, but at the same time don't want to make it obvious I'm hiding something either. I even have a routine for my daily running, which works out great.

I've never done the e-bay thing, but I do buy my products on line. The internet is a blessing for incontinence related issues, compared to pre-internet days, but that is a whole other chapter.

So Sandy, remember that when you wear your pin hole e-bay diapers, ya need to keep in mind to void where prohibited.

You can say what you want about ebay but the bulk of what I get on there is flawless. I've read enough stuff posted over the years by others that had problems with flaws that bought them from suppliers. So it's not just an ebay thing.

Certainly inferiority is not limited to e-bay. I have been ordering from the same reputable supplier for years, and am not immune to receiving name brand product with missing tapes, misplaced tapes and tapes that don't hold up. The problem is you don't know until you open up the box or package. But it is a bitter disappointment, because most times the products are shipped and delivered. My supplier replaces the product, and asks if I can still use the product rather than send it back.

If you complain enough, the manufacturer gets the feed back, and seems to work as I have not had to complain much of recent.

I have never purchased anything from e-bay, but the thought is there now and time permitting I should have a look-see now and then.

How many items did you bid on this time with pin holes? Did you find any good deals on sponges?

The sponge thing is not sinking in. There must be some humour attached with sponges. I'll catch on, but I'm thinking they are much to bulky to be of any value such as using as inserts?. I would think that when you sit down, there would be major flooding going on too.

There is some interesting reading on this site, and some excellent tips put out in the many articles.

I think I said in an earlier post that I was from Canada. Our healthcare system covers most, and my private insurance covers all of the incontinence products. Not sure if there are Canadians on this site, and I would wager many are American, but do you have to pay for visits to doctor or hospital, or do you have coverage like we do? I'm in Ontario, real close to Michigan.

About a month ago, Sandy made a comment in one of her posts to the effect that if you have leakage and don't change right away it would be like sitting on a wet sponge. Everyone needs to do what they feel works best for them, but during the day I like to change my "sponge brief" every 6 hours whenever possible.

I like your health care system from what you've explained. I don't know of any insurance company in the USA that will pay for "non-durable" medical items such as pads or diapers. Most people have a health insurance company that they pay a monthly premium for health care coverage. However, doc visits, lab test, Emergency Room (ER) hospital visits, and meds all have co-pays. The insurance company pays for part of the cost, but the insured pays the (co-pay) which pays the remaining balance. There is nothing cheap about the costs of health care in the USA.

The out of pocket cost for the co-pays on an average are probably $10 - $75 per med in my opinion. I have 5 prescriptions/scripts so it can add up pretty fast when you also add the cost of incon supplies. Now you know why Sandy likes to look on eBay for bargins. I wonder if I can find some real sponge pants on eBay? Might be worth a try.

On the note of great deals.. I found a BUNCH of cases of attends briefs at goodwill for 9 dollars a case. Problem is, they were all size youth! not very useful for me.. LOL..unless i had an incontinent kid..which i don't.. Hmm, maybe theyd be a good "inner diaper?" I dunno..while the government diapers I use are adequate..i'm always on the lookout for a package of something good locally like attends..and maybe molicare.. may be wishful thinking.. but some of the places ive been to have had some hard to find products.. just not lately.

As far as my own situaton with symptoms goes, its been 2 full days since i started reducing meds.. no noticable change in symptoms..still leak urine in moderate amounts at least once a day. However, i have not noticed any more morning deluges...that may be a sign of improvement. I'll keep you posted.

Latley I have been having urge incontinence issues and I wet myself on a fairly daily basis . Do you feel like I should use protection? My doctor is not telling me a whole lot as of yet and this is really freaky for me . Im not used to flooding my pants and it is embarressing
