Hello everyone
First I want to say i'm sorry that I havn't been around for a while.
I've been taking care of my mom, and a bunch of other things at the same time.
My mom passed away Jan 16th. She was 94 years young and in pretty good health. She even was still living in her own house by her self. But I still helped her out and drove her wherever she wanted to go.
She called me that Sunday morning and wanted me to come over in the afternoon (I live 5 minutes away) and fill up her bird feeders and put out some peanuts for the squirrels. She has fat squirrels hehe.
When I got over there she was laying back in her lazy-boy recliner with her feet propped up, the game show network on the tv, and looking out at the critters outside. Something that she did everyday.
I thought she was asleep, but I guess my dad (who died in 2012) decided to take my mom on a date to his special place in heaven. I'm sure that he is telling her the latest jokes that he has heard and they are having a great time up there.
Her funeral was today, and I still feel numb from this last week, but I got some VSOP Brandy, so i'm sure that ill feel better in a couple hours hehe
I'm real glad that I was able to help my parents out, my dad had cancer so his last 6 months were pretty bad. That was 10 years ago. And now they are both together again going on a new adventure.
Well that's about it for now
Schoppy

Add my hope for your recovery; grief can be extremely difficult, and clearly you and your parents loved each other. Too often grief and loss are tinged with anger and regret; when true love animates a family, lives well lived shine through.

Losing parents is always difficult even when we expect it. We think we prepare ourselves for the inevitable, but when it actually happens it I'm not so sure we are really ready. I lost both my parents, and my only two siblings within a year and a half of each other. Although it's been several years since my last sister passed away, I think of all of them daily. Schoppy, time will heal the sadness, but memories will continue on hopefully with a smile on your face.

I'm sorry to hear that and hope that you can find peace. It's hard to lose loved ones. They leave a hole in our hearts that lingers.

No matter how old we are, it’s never easy to lose a parent. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve.
