I think alot of you have to think about other Disabilty and kids.

While I was kid growing up I was teased about eye glasses. I remember smacking a kid with my metal lunch box. For there stupid action. I was a kid at the time. I had a 3 day vacation after that one.

Right now Most of us are adults. If a adult asking you having diapers on. It could be someone that might want info for a family member or them self as they might not have the funds for a computer or internet. Even if they went to a Coffee shop the Internet could be like Mars to them.

So hiding might not be the answer all the time. Like this forum everyone has some type of incontinent problem.

Mybe a idea for this Fourm would group up with Other forums that have other disabiltys like epilepsy, down syndrome, cerebral palsy blindness, deafness and 1,000 other disabilting.

But my Point is alot of disabiltys have one thing in common. Most people think they are not normal or why me view. Plus alot of disabiltys are group in other disabiltys.

But the thing is we are all Normal with a few problem.

I am actually superised at the number of people that read about that tell people that are incontinent and don't care if anyone can see, or notice the diaper they are wearing. I am very superised there are so many that don't care. I'm at the other end of the spectrum. The only people that know I'm incontinent are those that have a need to know....anyone else I don't tell them about it.

I'm not sure who posted the comment about a disposable diaper is very hard to detect under a clothing, but its very true. For me, even when I wear an extended wear diaper during the day which is thicker than the normal day wear diaper there is not much bulk with the selection of the proper diaper. People can't tell that I wear a diaper under my pants and that's the way I plan to keep it. Cloth diapers are very good in many ways, but they do have bulk and can be noticed under clothing. Beside wearing overalls, if someone knows how to hide wearing cloth diapers and 6 guage plastic pants under Levis, or dress pants please let me know. :)

First, I've decided to decide that I don't care if someone suspects that I am wearing diapers. I'm in my early sixties, so maybe it's easier, but I'm trying not to care that someone might figure out that I'm incontinent.

Therefore, I don't care that my diapers might be bulky. I've begun using Abri-Form Supers, usually with an insert, and even an X-Plus when out in public. The security is more important to me than someone noticing that I am wearing a diaper.

Besides, it beats the heck out of a stain running down my pant leg with a puddle forming around my shoe. Been there, done that.

I many ways, it goes down to how much protection you need. I never found any cloth diapers that could offer the protection I needed in the day that didn't have a lot of bulk. So, like many others, I used cloth at night, and disposables in the day. The Abri X-Plus, and the Molicare Super Plus continue to work well for me day and night. I am mobile and very active and these two brands of diapers don't show much bulk and are not noticeable to others....at least on me there not. No one has ever said anything about my appearance, or asked if I was wearing a diaper. However, I did have one person ask if I could smell urine? Since then, I take over the counter meds for odor control. I have not had that problem again and now I'm close to being bowel incontinent.

I don't think anyone can tell that I'm wearing a diaper. I wear cargo shorts and jeans with an Xplus and gym shorts and board shorts in the summer with an Abena extra. I wear my tshirts untucked. I also have worn dress slacks for work with a diaper on and nobody has been the wiser. Under the dress slacks, if it was really quiet, you could kinda hear a rustle of plastic and under the gym shorts as well. But in the gym when I work out, nobody notices. I don't think anyone will notice that your wearing a diaper. I still wear the same clothes I did before I became incontinent. I haven't changed a thing in my wardrobe. I just buy one size larger in my pants and when I try on clothes, I always have a diaper on to see how the pants or shorts fit. I do occasionally wear an abena concealer incase my shirt rides up. I only wear these with an xplus though because its so thick it tends to sag. I don't want that dreaded square diaper looking butt thing going on. LOL !

I have never been confronted either to ask if I was wearing a diaper, but I am surprised at that myself. Being a slim build at 5'10" and hovering aroung 150 lbs, when I do wear one to go out, I do notice a buldge/swollen area below the beltline front and backside, but I would know with and without views, not anyone on the street, they would just think I have a pudgy fat behind! Yup, they call me Puffy Pants for a reason! Who's to say? I don't care at this point in my life with my urgency issues if someone did ask... my reply would be basically "What's it to you"? If someone is going to jump to a conclusion right away without knowing the entire history/story, they are to shallow to even give them the time of day in my eyes. It is basically the same with the external catheter, when you sit, the telltale outline of the tubing definitely shows through jeans which I wear most often, but only I would notice, anyone else would just think it was the way the pantleg folds up when you sit down, never been asked about it, but it shows for sure... as well as the collection bag, over half full and you can tell by the outline on the lower pant leg. Full it is a dead giveaway, but I never get to that level before I hit the bathroom to empty. No need to be ashamed about either, they are both very effective weapons in my arsenal against my quirky bladder... Puffy (and sometimes not!) :D
