Some of you know that I'm an advocate for tabbed breifs for men regardless of incontiennce level because of our anatomy and how it shifts. I readily admit that i am biased against pullups but thats beause I have not found any that made me feel secure or could hold my very large moring voids without getting saturated. I am very glad adult diapers exist. Without them my life as it is would be impossible. That being said, I long for the day that someone invents a solution that works in ALL situations, sitting standing etc that actually collects urine in a bag and keeps it away from the skin. The most recent eternal system i tried was the AFEX system. Medicare only covers one of the 3 apparatus types, and only the jock strap..which is not very comfortable to say the least. I tested the system sitting down and it leaked every time. The chinese urinal had a better track record than that. I called Arcus Medical, the manufacturer of Afex with a question of what apparatust would work best while sitting and couldn't get ahold of anyone.. real professional eh? i kept reaching an answering machine that says, this mailbox is full and cant take more messages.. Sigh. Mens liberty works good..for the first few hours, but then spontaneously comes off at the worst possible times, and thats IF you apply it correctly. People like me with poor fine motor control don't have the best of luck iwth those types of things. So, im back to just using diapers. They work well, but gosh i wish there was a viable alternative.. because then i wouldn't have the sensation of urine against my skin. But, cest la vive...

Peace out!

Rob

Answer- catheter, OUCH!
I had one with each of the boys and when I was in a hospital awhile back.
I absolutely HATE them!

Me, too. Twice in my lifetime - both times in a hospital setting and both experiences were terrible.

I have not found anything that works well for me other than tabbed briefs. Condom Caths fall off. Chinese urinals and jock strap type products only work when standing and not moving and are NOT comfortable. Pull-ups do not stay put (sag) and not able to have the same absorbency that I have found to date, And finally the few times I was given foleys after surgeries the things gave me serious infections no matter how careful I was, were painful from spasms to just contact and movement, just overall very uncomfortable.
