Venting about the ABDL invasion..GRR

I have been fairly tolerant of the AB/DL crowd.. their videos about wanting to become incontinent that i stumble across make me cringe.. but as long as they don't harass genuinely incontinent folks.. whatever floats their boat. But tonight I'm ticked off!!!!!!!! I started a petition on change.org to help special needs children who have to use goodnites which get very expensive to have better options. I went to read the most recent comments under reason for signing, and I am utterly SHOCKED to see some dude post about being an abdl himself.. UMM first of all the petition has NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH ABDL! This is for SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN! Then the dude says something about needing bigger baby diapers complete with frills at the legs.. And then makes a comment about how hes going to keep his daughter in diapers until shes 12.. and how diapers symbolize youth.. I couldn't believe my eyes! Somehow I found the composure to type Thank you for signing the petition. But this is not what the petition is for. This comment will be deleted. The fricking AUDACITY of this dude to post this crap on a petition for special needs children!!! I cant even imagine what the dude was thinking. I only hope they didnt scare away those with genuine need. SMH..

UGH!!! I want to forget the comment I read.. but there are some things you just cant unsee.. I hope to God this isn't one of them.

I might need to go get a drink to calm down after reading that..

Anonymity breeds depravity, stupidity, and narcissism. I tend to agree with your stance on that crowd, its not my cup of tea, but live and let live. However, as you alluded to, there is a time and place for that and in the comment section of a petition centered on helping children in need is certainly NOT one of them. I think your frustration is absolutely justified, but just remember that there will always be selfish (that's truly what they are) people out there who want to make everything about themselves. I think you handled it professionally and displayed composure when I am sure it was difficult to do so. Keep up the good work SociologyGeek. Your desire to help others is a great quality and I can assure you that it doesn't go unnoticed. I hope you have a good night!

Thanks guys and gals.. It just blew my mind to read that crap... I never ONCE mentioned ABDL at all in my petition. Some people really need to get a clue. I'm a Catholic Christian so i know I need to forgive this guy from the heart, but right now I'm finding it very difficult to do that. Perhaps in time.

There are two things that I want to comment about,

one I am NOT against the ABDL community when I was 12 the internet was not as we see it now I needed support and I found an ABDL BBS chat full of people that some needed and some liked diapers and they welcomed me and helped me see that wearing diapers was not as bad as I thought. There was no Incontinence forum like this site that was active that could offer at confused 12-year old that hated wet beds but ashamed of possibly needing diapers.... I found that diapers allowed me a real good nights sleep and no wet pants made it easier to hide the few accidents I had during the day and the people in the chat made me feel that is was ok that I needed diapers. Because of that, I consider my self a "Diaper Lover" maybe not in the same way many in the community are "Diaper Lovers" but they changed my life for the better. the ABDL community helped me so I consider myself part of the community. The problem is the creepy outliers that make the community look bad, the underwear a person uses does not affect me its the creepy people that feel the need to say and post truly inappropriate things in inappropriate places, we all have seen it and there is no excuse for much of it. but it is not the entire community and its not ok to lump the entire group in one bag. frankly, there are creepy people in every part of humanity!

Second, we do NEED safe places for the incontinence community so I am glad this site weeds out the creepy posts. we should be open to those in ABDL community that are both ABDL AND Incontinent because there is a large number of people that do find themselves in both camps. and we should be open and helpful to those people as long as the kink stays on the ABDL sites.

I wish I had found a site like this when I was 12 but thankfully the ABDL chat I did find was helpful and I thank those people for helping me learn to accept myself and the underwear that has allowed me to be an active and functional adult.

You're right.. I know that this does NOT represent the AB/DL community as a whole.. a large majority have the decorum to stay away from actual incotninence sites..I am of the view live and let live with the whole thing.. because, honestly, theres not much I can do about it. But it really got me mad when i saw that comment on my petition. I have since forgiven the individual because by reading his FB profile, its evident he is possibly on the autism spectrum, so he like me may say or do things without thinking through the ramnificaitons. Not to mention he struggles with depression and/or suicidal ideation, maybe. So, I think Ill give him a break.

I remember when there were a number of forums for young people who wet the bed and they were all invaded by ABDL types who talked of things like being 'spanked' (always that term, despite there being lots of words for hitting a child) for wetting the bed and used things like obvious misspellings which were meant to make their writing look more juvenile than they were. It was sickening. A lot of them got shut down for that reason.

yes, sadly there are a few people that just don't get it, and a site must use moderators to control them. This is why we moderate the comments on our Youtube channel, we are open to criticism and LOVE getting comments but sadly MUST moderate them to weed out the comments that just don't belong.

Back when I first began to have IC issues, (15+ years now) the ABDL world was the first I reached out to as they seemed the least interested in passing judgement. I was right- they were very helpful to me in learning about quality, absorbency, etc. and nobody ever gave me a bad time about how i dealt with it or my age or anything else. For that reason, I will not offer any criticisms of them, even if I don't understand ~why~.
