I have come across a situation.. sudden urges when im lying down.. and leaks on the bed.. sometimes when i'm in bed, half awake and starts wetting before i get a chance to get up and go to the bathroom. and leak on to the sheets. I'm wondering what diaper has the best coverage for someone who sleeps on their side? I was considering Molicare, Abena, or Dry 24/7.. feedback is appreciated.

I never found a good disposable that worked well for me at night. That's why I use cloth now at night. On vacations when I'm forced to wear disposables at night, I have to change once or twice so I don't leak. I do wear a pull on cloth diaper over my disposable with a pair of plastic pants to catch leaks, though.
Of all the disposables I've used, probably the molicare would do best. I just can't pay that much for a disposable, though.

I've been wearing the Abena extra plus diapers around the clock. At night I fold a flat gauze diaper to the width of the Abena's leak guards and put a pair of vinyl pants over my diaper just in case. Haven't had a wet bed yet and I do sleep on my side.

I've tried practically every diaper on the market, and when it comes down to the wire I choose the Abri-form X-plus every time. They are comfortable and super absorbant. They last me through the night without any problems.

Personally none! You can't beat cloth diapers with good fitting plastic or rubber pants.

I think dave is correct on this you can not beat cloth and good plastic pants. The comfort and absobancy are the best. I can lie on my stomach and side with equal coverage front, back, and sides no leakage (not even a spot on my t-shirt) with extended laying on my stomach reading and internet scanning. With guys at night no matter where your penis is pointed a cloth catches. In disposable if you happen to be pointed outside the padded zone you end up leaking. Just my opinion. Take care!

If you wet a lot at night I agree that cloth diapers are the best. Comfort and absorbtion are also a factor. Wear them in the shower when your ready in the AM and lay on shower floor and when you finish showering/shampooing they will be odor free and almost clean. Drop in the laundry pile and wash when ever. Cloth diapers have lasted me 5 years. (That would have been 1,825 disposable diapers - just at night!) The cost of a good cloth diaper @ $25.00.ea X 6 would equal $150.00 A good disposable at night (@1.00 / ea) would have cost $1,825.00 Savings (and still counting) = $1,675.00. Add it up! Papa

Thanks guys.. fortunatley, control has been maintianed to the point where i have wetting lying down occasionally..but it does happen..which is why i never wear underwear anymore, even at night. But, while i may not wet while im sleeping, more often than not, when i wake up in the morning, id better have a good disposable on, or face wetting the floor or my pants, or bed.. on the way to the loo..sometimes i make the dash, sometimes i dont. It seems like neuropathy is MS..some symptoms like the incontinence come and go in severity, but never disappear completley. Incontinence is one of them. I cannot think of a single day where i havent used a diaper at some point. Some days i only use one or two the entire day.. with little leaks.. and then theres days where i flood two or three, and gush in 2. I have mentally adjusted quite well methinks to wearing diapers..

While some of you don't like the cloth backing on the newer disposables.. i must say i do.. I have to admit though, they are an aquired taste. While they may sometimes leak.. i change often enough that it isnt a problem. The number one reason why i like the cloth back disposables is the noise..they make no noise whatsoever.. theyre silent. Second factor is the tape tabs.. they are always refastenable...its never a problem adjusting for fit.. The only headache i've ever encoutered with them is occasionally when applying one i rip a tape tab off.. but that happens RARELY.. Ive really taken to tena ultra.. i find that they fit closer and more comortably than attends breathable.. thats why i decided to stop splitting my monthly complement, and just told J&B to send tena ultra...i really have very few complaints about the product. Should i decide i still want to use attends breathable now and then..no problem..have a closet full of them.. that i bought at the thrift store.

About buying the premium diapers out of pocket..that is a possibility.. id only buy a case or even maybe just a few bags sporadically..since we are talking quite a bit of money for not a lot of diapers. As i venture out into the work world following graduation next year, extended wear diapers will become a necessity for some situations. I'll cross that bridge when i come to it.

Do you use cloth diapers that have to be pinned on? If so, isn't that a huge inconvenience over just being able to tape something on?
