Bottom line, use what works.
I will also toss out for Betterdry, but I will say that I also leak a lot at night. I use a Betterdry with a Northshore booster, and even that is sometimes not enough on occasion. A combo that rarely fails and one I really should be using more is the above mentioned diaper/booster with a cloth diaper pull up and a pul pant. Given I don’t have night issues all the time and most of the time it’s not that huge a flood I often feel that’s overkill... but when I have wet sheets I can’t help but lament not taking those extra steps. After all, if the diaper doesn’t leak, the cloth diaper isn’t utliIed and can be reused the following night.
Don, if something works, try it. That being said, I don’t know how I would feel with a print diaper going to the doctor. I feel conspicuous enough as it is wearing a diaper..,

Generally, wearing a diaper to the doctor does not bother me. All my doctors have seen me in them. I’m not phased and they’re relaxed about it. The only time it got to me was when I soiled myself in the dermatology office. I was in the exam room waiting on the doctor. He came in to do a skin check which involves taking off all clothing. I told him the diaper couldnt come off because I had a bowel accident. That was extremely embarrassing. It’s only happened once. I try to stay clean. But I can’t always help it. Incontinence is unpredictable.
As far as wearing a print diaper, I’m probably going to wear the rebel to surgery. It’s not a childish print. I didn’t buy very many because they cost so much. I just wanted to try them. They’ll be at my house tomorrow. I’ll give them a try and let y’all know how they work. According to rearz, they’re more absorbent than the inspire. So we’ll see. Because my wetting is so heavy, I’m pretty open to trying new things. I’m willing to try them if I can wake up dry. Prints or not.

mattwp - I will. My assessment got rescheduled to tomorrow at 4:30. I guess the nurse was running late today. I plan on telling her everything and be honest about what I need. If I don't speak up I will be left to struggle. And that's what I'm trying to avoid by getting an aid.

Justej,
How did your home visit go? I hope you got the information you needed. I did receive the rebels. They’re not a silly print. They seem to be very absorbent. They are noisy though. I’m home now but I would have to select an appropriate outfit in order to wear them out of the house. The clothing I’m wearing is very light and if I was in a quiet place my situation would very evident. I believe it is possible though. Just choose clothing carefully. Overall, they appear to be a quality brief. The only thing I don’t like is that the leg gathers are not elastic. But they do fit well. Tonight will be the ultimate test. I hope they work. I’m going to use a booster to increase absorbency as much as possible.

My assessment went well. She was here for maybe an hour. She tried to talk me into using pull ups but I had to explain that they were not absorbent enough. She asked if I was bowel incontinent. I told her the truth. I usually am pretty good but will have occasional accidents. We talked about my need for assistance in changing. She was really nice and took a picture of my fat cat to show to her daughter. She asked to see me stand and when I went for my crutches she said "ok you don't have to stand that's enough" so I guess that's positive? I'll be assessed again by the agency my case is assigned to. All in all I think it went well. And i had a great start to my day when I found out my student loans got discharged through permanent and total disability.

Hello everyone. I did try the Rearz. They were extremely bulky and very uncomfortable by morning. And they cost alot of money, which to me, made them not worth it. Others noticed they had an odor to them. So I have decided to not repurchase this item. I did try the ABU briefs. These worked out extremely well. They appear to be extremely well made. They hold more than other products I have tried. So far, I have stayed dry at night. I add a booster pad to them to increase absorbency while I sleep. They are a little costly but I do get a military discount. If you can get past the appearance of the site, they offer a great product. I have called them with inquiries and the staff is courteous and friendly. May be worth a try. As mentioned earlier, they do offer plain white versions that are highly absorbent holding as much as 5000mL, which is what brought me to them.
