I currently have an Asda waterproof mattress protector, i have also had a few in the past, i always find that after a handful of washes they lose there ability to fully protect the mattress. Is there a mattress protector out there that does not do this. I only tend to need these when i have been drinking a lot of beer and get drunk. I dont want something that i will notice, it has to be comfortable and unnoticeable.

Northshore Care Supply here in the US carries a great mattress pad, it their "Champion XD/HD" line. It's definitely a durable and fairly heavy pad but it washes well, and even though fairly thick, in my experience it's not hot or noticeable to sleep on. One word of advice though is to get a pad larger than you think you may need, which in this case would be the X-Large which is 35"x47".

Many thanks for your reply. I dont need a pad its a full double size mattress protector that slips over the full mattress.. I would forget to use something like that so i want to have a cover on at all times.

Northshore also has a line of full-bed mattress protectors. I haven't tried one of those yet but given the high quality of everything I've ever purchased from them I suspect they are very good. Also, their customer service is the absolute best I've ever seen. It would probably be a good Idea to check them out and see if they have what you are looking for and of course see if they ship internationally.

Many thanks for the recommendations, i have checked out their website and it looks like good stuff they sell. I have sent them a message to see if they do international shipping. Fingers crossed. ;)

I’m currently using the “Protect-a-Bed Luxury” mattress protector. It’s one that they sell at Northshore ( I got mine on Amazon). I’ve had it for a couple months and really like it. I’ve had several nights where I soaked the bed and it has kept the mattress completely dry. Both my partner and I are pretty hot sleepers and it hasn’t affected sleeping temperature.

Eva-dry are my favourites. Pretty cheap, but great quality thick PVC. They do complete mattress covers, duvet covers, pillow cases. If you don't mind the plastic and prefer cotton feel probably not right for you but they are fantastic

I purchased one from incontinence choice. Its encased covering the whole mattress. Its durable and hasn't ripped. I forgot which one but something like this. https://www.incontinencechoice.co.uk/be ... cased.html

Many thanks for all the helpful replies but i dont want a plastic sheet as it will annoy me, my problem is only occasional and so i want something you wont notice, the one i bought from asda was fine as it had terry toweling on the top so it was comfortable and quiet, it still gets me hot though. Maybe i should just consider them life limited and buy a few to rotate. them when they are not doing there job i can bin them.

I found that the textile one I purchased from John Lewis that was advertised as waterproof seeped urine in the mattress below after my pad totally failed. I now have a plastic sheet under the textile mattress protecter and you can hardly notice I have one on. It doesn't get too hot either and I sleep better because I have confidence my mattress won't get wet.
