Advice needed on reusable swim diapers

Sat Feb 04, 2017 5:46 pm

Hi all,

Up until now I haven't really been worried about wearing swim diaper because my issues are urine related most of the time and have been using swim diapers for urine containment till I get into the pool and just been using Swimmates. But since I have had another bowel accident in my diaper last month, probably due to slacking off on taking Mirilax I've been thinking it would be prudent to invest UBS substantial and reusable products . I know of the discovery trekking one on xp medical but was wondering if there was another swim diaper those of you who routinely deal with bowel incontinence find comfortable, effective and reliable and would recommend. Thanks in advance my friends.

Peace out!

Rob

I usually have big bowel accidents and use swimmates under sosecures, I've had plenty of accidents to say that they always do the job and contain everything properly. Because my swim suite is one piece and usually girls swimsuits are always form fitting the diapers show, it's pretty obvious but functional. I may try to use only the swimmates and have a go some time but for now I'm confident with what I mentioned.
However some people have had issues with only the sosecure maybe get some advice from them,

Hey Rob. Check out the thread I started about the swimmates diapers. The conversation revolves around the sosecure and swimmates. For reusable, the sosecure is probably the best. It covers well as long as it fits right. It does hold water though giving you a bulge in your bottom. This may be evident to other swimmers. Swimmates are not supposed to do that. I recently got a sample pack of swimmates and did have some slight swelling. I have found that wearing a speedo/brief type suit over the disposable keeps it close to the body and prevents gaping. I tried this at home and I could not see the swim diaper through my bathing suit shorts. I have chronic diarrhea. Whenever I get the slightest urge I get out of the pool. The swim diaper is there to get me to the bathroom because my warning is so brief I'll start to leak stool shortly after. I go frequently throughout the day so it's not a whole lot. It's enough to necessitate an immediate change though.
