says my stupid head. so i stop wearig and pee myself each time.
what lead to this thinking was people making fun of people wearing diapers on facebook.
i found out last week that ill be having my 5th surgery on my legs, this time my right leg. im tired of this. tired of surgery. tired of the hard realization that i need diapers

I wouldn't get too worked up over dumb crap people post on FB.

Were they making fun of you or someone you know or just in general? Either way, who cares? You need to wear diapers and that's ok. Just keep telling yourself that. It's how I've been coping.

When is saw the title of this thread I immediately thought "BS". I've been down that road many times, as have most of us. Relax, and pad up, they have no clue what you are going through.

When folks around me say demeaning or ignorant things about incontinents, I am reassured, because they must not know that I'm wearing diapers. If I'd had a visible accident, the situation would have been different. Telling myself that my incontinence is all in my head is a lie that would impede my management. Honesty must begin with myself; afterwards, it can extend to family and friends.

Yeah, unfortunately there are a LOT of people out there with absolutely no sympathy for others. And they make those remarks based on misinformation (or none) and certainly no understanding.

I've gotten to a point now that when I hear someone say something that's demeaning towards adult in diapers, that I actually just feel sorry for them. The best you can do is try and properly inform them, and/or just forget about them and move on.

Justej,
Most people flat don't understand what we go through and if they did they wouldn't say or do the crap they sling. I drop FB over a year ago and flat don't miss it. Im sorry your looking at another surgery on your legs, I know sometimes it seems like it will never end, I went through seven myself and looking at a eighth. Head up and keep going, life is a beautiful thing just don't listen to bull crap.

youd think after the 2nd or 3rd wet episode id give in. or at least get a clue!
ive just got to resign myself to the fact i need diapers but its easier said than done. i think from now on (like its been said) i just gotta pad up and move on.
im tired of getting to the door and losing control. or getting to work and not being able to make it to the bathroom. one of my friends on fb said "things could be worse. i could be incontinent" one of my friends has been amazing. he bought me onsies for christmas. :D

Don't beat yourself up over this jestej. I (of all people) fought it for nearly a full decade, and I can say you're already years ahead of where I was after the same amount of time. You'll get there, and if your "friends" are berating you for being incontinent (even if they don't fully understand your situation), then you should consider dropping them as they are obviously not being very friendly.
