Hmmmm...... multi-tasking. I used to think I was really good at it but reality it was a delusion.

I cant at all. One task at a time. I can do more but I literally switch in my head like a computer. And they can multi-task only fake it.

So yea. lack of multi-tasking route of alot of problems.

Update:

I had a good weekend it was relaxed and got my head sorted a bit. Only wore one pad on Saturday (but it was during a very stressful point of the day and once over I could take the pad off). Really happy with everything, so at a nice stage of a plan and cracking things off a list.

But Monday came around and back to usual but I am bit more accepting of it of it all. Put a pad on as if it is becoming normality to wear whilst working. First change went well.

Second change I was so focused on getting on (and I was). I only noticed I needed to change when I leaked (without plastic pants), all over my underpant and trousers. Lucky for me, I was in my office but it caused so much anxiety of whether it would happen again (and it will). Took me two hours to calm down (knowing it was silly as I only get this focused when I am alone). I also literally forgot I was wearing and when I start to feel the leak, I was mentally kicking myself that I should of been wearing even though I was.

Silly really

GFord,

Glad to hear you had a good weekend.

But not wearing plastic pants when you know you have a problem? :(

We all handle our incontinence a little differently, but we all know that diapers are not 100% effective. They will fail or overflow. If going out of the house, and particularly if going to the office, why not just make a routine of putting on a diaper plus plastic pants? Then you can avoid becoming distressed about accidents or leaks and wetting your trousers. :D

I have had my share of leaks. I normally wear a ConfiDry 24/7 with a booster pad, plus Gary Activewear PUL pants.

It was stupid but a very good lesson and gave me a kick up the bottom

Very true and it is a learning process. And yes to day fully protected before leaving the house. So yesterday was just a day of leaks my head was all over and I sorta resigned myself to leaks (Really bad day). But today I picked myself up and even came up with a solutions. Mainly due the advice from here.

1. Upgrade to Tena Ultima (First one on today)

2. Wear Plastic Pants (I am still going to be rubbish and leak)

3. Buy some more lined plastic pants (i.e. with a terry liner)

With lined plastic pants it means when I leak it gets absorbed by the terry. The terry is easy to check if it is wet then change. I can then put a bedwetting monitor in the lined plastic pants (need to find right spot). Therefore I leak a bit, monitor goes off and I know I need to change. Of course checking, alarm clocks, etc will help and are part of the plan.

So thank you all and I wear update you guys. Especially my first nappy of the day, I dribbled into it for the first hour until a slightly larger wetting happened. So control is lessening but that is unsurprising as at the moment my head is in a bad place due to everything happening. After I get those the process with the medical profession hopefully my anxieties will come down and I hope to dry up. At the moment my future is lots more nappies of well. At least I am dry on the outside :)

G Ford,
I think your anxiety will drop a lot if you keep yourself protected to the max. I use catheters 90% of the time now but, when I use diapers for protection everyday when I went out I was protected to the max. That way you have one less thing to be concerned about. Plus getting your protection plan as a everyday routine will help as well. Like everyone here will till you it does get easier over time.

He's right. I fought for years to try everything else first. Pads, pull-ups, belteds... What a waste of time and effort, plus lots of wet clothes and embarrassment. Then I finally went to the most absorbent diapers I could find. It made my life so much easier. Now I have backed off slightly on absorbency/cost and I am still confident when I go out. FWIW, I am still employed in an office position that requires almost constant travel. TSA doesn't care about my bladder, and neither does anyone else I meet. My wife is completely supportive and understanding, in fact she has her own IC issues too, just not as severe.

I've been dealing with incontinence off-and-on for all of my life and worn diapers since 2006. I've tried everything out there to manage this, and I really do mean everything, and the closest I have found to the perfect combination for me is:

1. Premium tape-on diaper (Abena X-Plus or Dry 24/7)
2. Booster pad inside diaper
3. Plastic pants

Like every person with incontinence, accidents are a reality that I have to deal with. However, with the combination of protection options that I have through experience put together, they are minimized. Even if I am careful, I have accepted the fact that I am going to wet my pants and the bed from time-to-time.

What is far more of an issue than an accident is the reality that this level of protection is noticeable under clothing. In truth, that doesn't mean my diapers and plastic pants will be noticed, only that they are noticeable. My diapers and plastic pants are bulky, noisy and at times visible. This was reinforced a couple of years ago when my sister-in-law and her daughter were visiting, and they both noticed my plastic pants extending beyond the top of my pants when I reached up into a cupboard to retrieve some dishes. I wasn't aware of this, but my wife later mentioned that her sister had asked her about it. My wife did admit to me that the diaper bulk was obvious and that she often heard my diapers and plastic pants and frequently saw the top of them when my shirt pulled up. That said, we agreed that unless someone actually sees or hears my diapers, they're probably not going to connect the dots on the bulk alone.

Schooner,

As you mentioned that your wife saw your diapers when your shirt pulled up, it appears that you are not wearing a onesie. To reduce and hopefully eliminate, diaper noise both wear a onesie and use PUL pants. What kind of "plastic" pants are you wearing? Some plastic is very loud.
