Still here in the North Carolina heat (97 here today and humid). Unfortunately I came down with a UTI a couple days ago and still am recovering. :( Although I self-catheterize, UTIs are unusual for me.

Sometimes my 'humor' is an acquired flavor and doesn't always translate I'm told.......

I've lived in the great white north, Florida, and now Oklahoma. It's all relative. An 85 degree day feels nice here, right now. That was unbearable in Michiga, and typical in Florida. Florida has Oklahoma beat for humidity though.

Right, and when winter hits 32 in Michigan (where I'm originally from) that is also considered quite livable up there. Get that same temp here in Florida and OMG everything is literally freezing- including the people.

I can say one thing that isn't just relative though. High heat doesn't physically hurt bad bones and joints any near where a very low temp will. If anything, the heat helps. This is why so many elderly and disabled retire in the south. We can bear the heat, but not the cold.

True, but I know people that have tried to Alaska or Colorado too. My parents are thinking about retiring to Maine.

That's because old age isn't really the factor in play here. It's good hear your parents are in good health though.
