Well, it happened to me. I had my first accident and feelings I have for now are anger and shame. Since I suffer from urinary urgency, I never had to experience that kind of unpleasant situation and I've never used protection. I found myself wet in front of some people I did not know. I hope that my accident was not seen because I already have enough trouble living with what happened.

I think I'm going to buy protections, I will have to put aside my embarrassment.

I hope my doctor will find whats wrong down there.

Urinary urgency sucks...

mjlbt, sorry to read about your accident. Public accidents can be traumatic. :( All of us here have been through it and understand.

Now it is important to follow through on buying some type of absorbent garment so you have some protection until your appointment with your doctor. As you will have gathered by now, most of us just call absorbent or protective garments "diapers". If you have only light incontinence, you may be able to make do with just a pull-up. Otherwise, a taped diaper provides more protection against leaks.

Yeah that does suck, and we all can sympathize having been there. Glad to see you are following up with your doctor on this. It sounds like you've already been dealing with these problems to a smaller degree, but like you've found out; With most anything, trying to ignore a problem only makes it worse.

As my problem is a complete emptying of the bladder and I never purchase any kind of protection, do you think that pulled up could be sufficiently absorbent? Witch one can hold a full bladder leak? Also, what do you think of pads that can be used with supporting mesh panties?

Thanks

Having had a serious case of urge incontinence with flooding (full bladder emptying) myself, I can say you absolutely will need a premium diaper such as confidry24/7 or northsore supreme. You might be able to get by with abena xplus, molicare supers, or xpmedical aplus- though you will have to change more often.

Pullups of any kind, and even cloth like disposables, will not work for flooding (full bladder emptying). You will need to stay away from the thinner plastic tapped diapers too (like depends, atn, wellness, etc).

We all have come about this the wrong way, and in hindsight, we have seen the error of our ways. You should not start with minimal protection, and then gradually ratchet up until the embarrassing accidents stop. Most of us did just that, and it was very embarrassing. I would suggest that you start with a full fledged diaper of premium design. Wear your pants a waist size larger to accommodate the bulk. No one but your SO will ever notice.

I tried the pads, and by the time I found ones big enough to be reliable, they fit me like a full diaper. So that's what I use now.
