Be warned that Rearz (and Bambino) both have a design that places the lower tapes closer to the middle of the wing panels. This no-lower-tape design does not allow for a decent fit around your legs. In my experience, this has always led to them leaking long before they reach any kind of capacity and you end up wasting money on them. The only way I have been able to get a diaper like this to work is to use one size too small. This smaller size will then compensate to the looser fit around your legs and still provide a decent enough seal that won't leak too often. Unfortunately, this also means you will be wearing a diaper that is not properly fitted. They will be much more likely to leak over the top waist band, have tapes that "pop" off, and even split open along the middle of the back side.

I do not recommend using Rearz, Bambino, or any other similarly designed diaper. Instead, if you are looking for a really good premium diaper then I would highly recommend Confidry 24,7 NorthShore Suprem, or even Molicare Supers. Just don't look at their individual costs though, look at them as a cost/diapers per day. They all last a lot longer so overall the cost much less than diapers like Tena, Suprema, Tranquality, or Abena. As a plus you can go longer in between changes, and they are much less likely to leak too.

While I haven't tried Rearz or Bambino, I will say that diaper fit is often very individualized and dependent on body type... so blanket statements like that might not hold true for everyone.... Luckily, I have found that the ConfiDry 24/7 work well for me so I'll stick with what I know.

True, there will always be some that will swear by them. However I had gathered quite a lot of testimony from others in the past on this that actually speaks against this, even from for those trying to defend them. It really came across to me that the only time someone was able to get that kind of diaper to fit right and not leak at the legs, was when they specifically wore a size that would not have the top of the diaper extending up past their hips line (ie, one size too small).

However, these same manufacturers (and all of them really), recommend their diaper should fit based on a persons waist line. (Look at a real baby, this is how it fits on them too). This is around where your belly button is, and is where the diaper is intended to extend up to (past your hip and belt line).

Of course I recognize a lot of people won't want to do this out of fear of being found out with an accidentally untucked shirt. When you get enough people wanting this smaller and tighter kind of fit, you get companies like bambino and rearz adjusting their design to loosen it in areas like around the legs by raising those lower tapes. Hence the reason why it still works for them, but not if it is properly sized.

It's also worth noting that this adjusted, smaller size does work overall for some people. However these same people who wear them this way also complain a lot about their diaper leaking over the top a lot, tapes popping or breaking loose in spite of them being free of oil or powder, and even the rear of the diaper splitting apart. These are all because that diaper was initially designed to properly fit on a smaller framed person. Without that proper fit they will still work, but people will still frequently get these problems, and often think its just a manufacturing defect when it's really not.

Switching to a proper size will get rid of those problems, except now they will leak around the legs too often, because of that design adjustment where the tapes are positioned higher. It's really a no win situation with these diapers, and so I stand by my recommendation to just stay away from them to begin with.

Oh, incidentally I forgot to mention. With a properly fitted diaper that does extend up to your waist. If anyone is still concerned about the diaper sticking up over their belt line, you can tuck the diaper down to conceal it.

Do this by putting the diaper on, then while standing up just fold the top of the diaper back inside the diaper. Tuck it down low enough, all the way around, so that it now only extends up to your hips/ belt line. Voila, invisible diaper line.

As a plus, this method will also create a sort of dam that will help prevent it from leaking over the top (bladder and bowels). I've been a real flooder in the past, and this worked really good for me in my work attire.
