Thanks for the reply on that laziness thing, because I thought I might be the only one. Glad to see I'm not, it just made sense. Also, about not letting it bug you I figured today that chances are someone is going to know eventually, just be glad if its someone you don't know and then you don't have to deal with them. In colleges there are many recent high school grads who may still be that immature phase and that has to be considered too. After all I am not there to impress them anyway. This will be more of a concern when I have to take classes with labs, or that meet more often. Right now it is only for test days.

A lot of people do use baby diapers as inserts in their disposable diaper or cloth diaper. It's not a bad ideal. Let us know how it woeks! ....Paul

My son and daughter wear diapers Tena and or attends which are a big bulky but just able to hide under their school uniform especially my daughter. My son is having certain problems though. PM me.

Thanks again for your help. I thought maybe I had come up with the insert idea. The only thing I can see going wrong is extra bulk and slipping. A couple pieces of tape unserneath should fix that. I figured cloth with an insert would be o.k. for long walks outside when it gets warmer. One thing that I had forgotten about was that a short while ago I had a maintenence worker from my apartment building come over to do an annual inspection smoke detectors and stuff. I was in a hurry when he came and was standing in the entrance with a discerning look on his face staring into to closet which was open and I couldn't figure out why. It wasn't until after I came home later that I had left a bag of depends and pads on the closet floor in white pastic grocery bag. I live alone so I don't bother hiding anything unless someone is coming over. I didn't think I'd see him again but he was leaving another apartment and gave the the same look as I was coming in. They must always use the same repair people here.

As far as noise goes, I have a couple of pair of canvas pants (Dockers style) from Old Navy.
These pants are the noisest pants I have ever worn. With a pair of these no one would ever hear the sound of a muffled diaper underneath.....

Your right about the cargo pants from Old Navy, these are the best, much better than jeans. I guess sometimes someone is going to notice and there's nothing you can do but move on and not think about it too much. It is embarrassing for the moment and I figure if someone is rude enough to stare or give you a look their manners are not our problem.

A couple of things come to mind. First, when I was in college I found that I was often one of the first to finish a test. I think people noticing me at that point were probably envious that I was done and they weren't. So, people may be noticing you for other reasons than what you're wearing.

Second, I've read on plenty of different online boards about people who don't ordinarily wear any sort of protection but who do for convenience when they're in a situation where they won't have easy access to a restroom, such as a final exam, a concert, a sports event, skiing etc. So it's always possible that someone who notices you're wearing protection is in the same situation. All the more reason, I say, to pay no attention to whether people notice you or not.

Yes, the cargo pants are much better than jeans...
But I think that you missed my point.
The cargo pants make so much noise themselves that no one would pay attention to any other noise that diapers or plastic pants might make.

I've never had anybody say anything. I worry at times that the un-evenness or lumpiness of a diaper might show through my pants, but noise has not concerned me. I wear dark pants, and keep them baggy.
I have concluded that it's necessary to seperate my self-consciousness from the acutal reality of anybody noticing. This has helped to ease the worry or concern. Then, I've no evidence that anybody can tell, which supports my decision to make this separation.
Which brings up the existential point: tell yourself to stop being self-conscious and see how far that gets - just letting go is the answer.

I didn't miss the point. The noise of cargo pants and track pants is really good. I tend to worry about bulk more than noise but am going to just forget it and be less self concious. There are certain things you just can't wear with this like the stretch pants or stretch jeans which are more of a women't fashion item that guys probably don't think about much. There are ceratin times when people do suspect like in school, the grocery store, etc. But its seems at some point you just shrug it off and forget about them, there will probably be more future incidents. There must be a passing embarrassment face just like the denial phase that you get over.
