Ted,

I think you've been given some pretty good advise, so there is little I can add of any value. Many here including myself use the same type of night time protection as you,.....old fashion cloth diapers with plastic (vinyl) pants for the diaper cover. If you find the vinyl pants to be a little uncomfortable you might want to try a breathable diaper cover such as a "PUL" diaper cover.

The only thing I can say about the level of protection needed will always be determined by the level of absorbance needed avoiding bulk, or experiencing leaks. I'm a incomplete paraplegic so the cause of incontinence is spinal cord nerve damage. My incon voids can range from just a few drops to massive flooding and everything in between so the level of absorbance needed is both unpredictable, and high. Everyone has different needs (level of absorbance required), so knowing your required needs is the first step towards managing your incontinence. I can't add anything to the importance of seeing the urologist and undergoing all the necessary tests, and evaluations. Sometimes incontinence can be managed very effectively with the use of meds, and other times not. There is no short cut to knowing what can, or can not work for you until all the results are in, and your urologist can provide you with the results and remedies. Knowing the cause and ruling out such things cancer causing tumors, and/or diseases known to cause incontinence such as MS, or Parkinson's disease just to name a few.

Opinions are like you know what,....everybody has one. In my opinion, the best all-round day/night disposable is pretty much limited to (take your pick) the Abena M4, ComfiDry 24/7, or the NorthShore Supreme diaper. You can try others, but I really believe if you purchase any disposable not mentioned you will be tossing whatever brand diaper you just purchased into the stack of "wasted money diapers".

Most here buy their disposables from XP Medical, or North Shore Medical. I'm sure there are many others that offer better than average pricing and the same for service. When it comes to diaper covers, I would recommend you try using either a single, or double terry lined vinyl pant (diaper cover) for night time use especially if you sleep on your side a lot. Remember what I said about opinions,....everybody has one and in my opinion, two of the best places to purchase ANY type of diaper cover is KINS, aka Babykins, and Fetwear. These two companies offer several different type of diapers covers with high quality, and reasonable pricing. A long time ago, I learned the benefits of wearing a diaper cover over my disposable during the day and suggest you try the KINS vinyl Lowriders pants 40300V. Don't let the name "Lowriders" fool you. The fit, and comfort of these pants is perfect for me over the NorthShore Supreme disposable diaper. I like security of no leaks, and no bulk and these two items offer that when worn together. It goes without saying other disposables can be used in place of the NorthShore diaper, I just happen to like this combination for day wear. I do suggest you try the Lowriders pants,....I'm pretty certain you will NOT be disappointed.

I hope the information provided in the above is helpful. You will find this support group forum to be VERY informative to include product reviews. You can save yourself a LOT of money if you are for a review of a specific product BEFORE you make the purchase. I know this forum has saved me a LOT of money in the past because I asked for a product review before making the purchase.

Keep us posted.
