Well today I had my yearly check up with my doctor today in Urology. Got offer some new meds to try. He said these do not have the same side affects as the previous ones. The problem is the VA does not offer them and Tricare you have to jump through hoops to get one of them. Plus, not to take both of them at the same time.

The first one he recommended was Myrbetriq. Promised no side affects and great results. I have seen what everyone as said about on here, plus some other reviews on other med sites make me scared to try it. One person said it made them so dizzy they had to lie down where ever they were at. Another one just said it made them feel all kinds of strange. This is the one hoops has to be jumped through to get. Really don't know if it is worth it.

The other one was Myoscannive? Really can't read the handwriting on the Rx form to correctly spell it and couldn't find it on the internet. He describe this one as putting it under your tongue and letting it dissolve. He said doing it this way it bypasses the liver and has no side effects. Does anyone know what this one might be and if so how did it work?

The other thing he kept saying was the meds are fairly new and has had great success from people he had prescribed it to in his other practice. At first all this sounds promising and I can get out of diapers hopefully, but the word "New" scares me even through it is FDA approved, because how many other "New" meds were taken quickly off the market, followed by class action lawsuit because it mess something else up.

Bateman, I know I am speaking only for me, but I am done with being tested and drugged to control my incontinence. The side effect from all the meds I take was a larger nightmare than the incontinence itself. All meds come with side affects, some you see and feel and others you wont see for years to come. What I love is when they give you meds and more meds to combat the side effects from the first one. Please be careful, but I hope it works for you !!

mlhjr, The side effects are what scares me. I was taking Plavix years ago and had a very bad reaction to it. The first two doctors said there was no way Plavix could cause what was happening. The third put the pieces together and took me off of it.

Just hearing him talk and saying no side effects was getting me excited about trying it, but as I said I can't get it from the VA or my other insurance. I guess this is a red flag saying "just accept it".

Batman,

I have not tried Myrbetriq, so I have no personal experience with it.

In 2012 the FDA approved Mirabegron (Myrbetriq) for the treatment of OAB. Currently, it is the newest drug approved for OAB in the U.S. Because it is newly approved, there are fewer studies available about its safety and effectiveness. It relaxes the bladder muscle and increases bladder capacity.

Allegedly it has "fewer" side effects.
