What a trip. Last week helped my son move back to where he grew up during his teenage years. Over 1300 miles. Took the drive easy and split it up to 3 days getting there and 3 days coming back. I really learned to depend on my protection. I did start to realize something concerning when I would start to have accidents. For the most part I would make it to the rest stop, but the moment I changed positions from sitting to standing/walking my bladder would let go.

On another note though, when stopped at a truck stop no one bats an eye at someone carrying in a small bag and everybody is so busy in the bathroom trying to get in and out nobody notice me throwing away what needed to be thrown away. Glad to be back home now relaxing.

I'm glad you're home safe and comfortable, too, batman. Have a great rest of the summer.

Glad your trip went well and you are right most people don't notice or care when some one brings in a bag with the bathroom or disposes of on the way out of the stall.

I think people are to busy to notice or if they do adult diapers are being more common over the last few years and people, realize they are needed for protection.

Batman,

Well done. Good point about truck stops and bags. :D

Any other tips or lessons learned?

Changing positions is a common trigger for OAB, particularly getting up from a sitting position. I have the same experience.

the same here. I was driving home from the store, and about 4 blocks from my house, I felt a very slight urge to have to go, then it went away. I did not think anymore about it. I pulled up street, backed into my driveway. Got out, grabbed my bag of food and boom I was peeing. Just like that, almost no feeling at all to totally soaking my diaper right in my driveway. There is something about changing positions. I can only guess pressure from your intestines, stomach, etc. pushing differently on your bladder, and your stomach muscles pulled tighter as you stand so less room for your bladder that is more full than you realize I guess! :)

Standing up from a sitting position (like getting out of a car) can cause a bladder accident. It's happened to me as well. Approaching your front door can trigger it, too.

Thanks all. Very similar descriptions of what happens when I get home, either it is in the garage or on the way go figure. At least I am not wetting my pants and having to do laundry afterwards.

As for other lessons learned, when we stopped at a restaurant I would shove the folder diaper in the back of my pants at the truck and than cover it with my shirt. This helped in not carrying a bag into the restaurant. Another big help which helped was having a booster pad has it added additional absorption.

I am just so thankful to have an understanding wife who knows this is a medical condition and there is nothing I can really do about it.
