Hello,

It is my understanding that in order to protect the best, any brief a person wears should fit snugly. What is a good rule of thumb for that? I mean, I used to buy Absorbency Plus in size Medium, but I went with Size regular recently beceause it seemed whenever i tried to apply a new diaper, with the medium the tabs came off in my hand. The wings seemed to be almost streched to their limit. I decided to try going up a size to size regular. I no longer have the tape ripping issue but now it seems that the diaper might not be as snug as the size medium. The waist seems a bit looser. I actually remember making the same post about the gapping issue on size regular. Of course, the main goal with ANY adult brief is to make sure the user is both comfortable as possible, and the product does not leak.. after all, that is the whole point of wearing an adult diaper...

So, right now I consider a good rule of thumb to be a good seal at the leg holes, where there is no gaps in between the inner thigh/groin and the diaper. Gaps at the waist are less important, unless I happen to be sitting. In which case, padding coverage is keyand the padding needs to be in contact with the skin.

Now, I also have questions about taping techinques. I realize that JD in his white paper advises to tape certian tapes at a certian angle. With my poor fine motor skills. I don't know if I am capable of such a refined techinique. I simply make sure the diaper is flat and pulled taught against my sking and i tape on.. not really paying attention to the angle of the tape.. and I do my best to make sure the diaepr fits snug as posible. Is this adequate, or should i refine my taping technique?

The good news is, other than last June, I have not had a premium brand diaper fail on me yet..so i must be doing something right with my taping techinques.

Any and all input on how to get good taping techinques with limited hand dexterity would be appreciated!

Peace out!

Rob

I have a similar problem, in that I'm rarely wearing my glasses when I wash and change, so I must tape my protection on by feel. If your taping technique keeps your clothing and furniture dry, and allows the diaper to absorb as much as it can, wonderful. You cannot ask for more than that. Good luck.

I want to say "Amen" to what Patrick said. That indeed is the bottom line.

After my shoulder surgery I had to "make do" with my very limited one-handed dexterity. Most of my poorly taped diapers actually performed rather well.

I have found that the fit for a particular diaper size varies somewhat depending on who the manufacturer is. I am well within the medium range for most, so I have never found sizing to be too much of an issue with diapers. Plastic pants on the other hand, do tend to significantly vary between manufacturers. I wear size medium in the Gary plastic pants, small in the Suprima plastic pants and large in the Duromed/DMR plastic pants.

Hey all,

This is another post recycle... My question is to do with sizing. I did complain about some products ripping off with tabs.. maybe I need to go to a size Large for some. I noticed that some of them list 38 for the lowest range on their large.. and I happen to be a 38" last time I checked. Its just odd to me to be talking about buying a size large, since for the majority of my "incontinent life" mediums have fit me just fine.

Also, there is something I'm REALLY confused about. I was looking at Gary's website, and according to him, the size range on Attends Extedned wear size Large is 38-58.. But the Attends website lists it as 44-58. What gives? is that a typo? I'll email Gary to find out what the story is behind that..

I have to say something here. I am getting nervous about managing this over there. Not the actual problem itself, but the whole cost of things. I don't have a biweekly paycheck right now, so things will be tight. I mean, i will have this job and I'll get paid, but the intervals will be montly.. i just hope i can figure out how to get what i need without breaking the bank...

Peace out!

Rob
