You are my support group. As some of you know last October I suffered a concussion and was off of here for almost a month. Well, that got better, sort of. Lately I feel as thought I have the concussion all over again. I've been getting really bad continual headaches that last for a week at a time. Now however I'm getting dizzy spells with nausea. I called my doctor about it and since I have a regular scheduled appointment next week they are pushing it off until then. Meanwhile, my mind is going crazy wondering what is wrong. As is usual, I tend to have a pesimistic outlook for these types of things and that drives me further into worry. I'll be honest with you, I'm a little upset, nervous, frustrated and scared all at the same time.

I'm sorry to bother you all with this but as I said, I feel you are my support group and you have been supportive to me in so many ways. Thanks to all of you for being here.

Sounds awful and its normal to worry about these things. It's good that you have an appointment for next week but if things get worse which I hope they don't you may need to go to the hospital before then.
Stay calm and get well.

Thank you guys. That's why I said you are my support group. Thanks so much. I hope to get answers soon but I'm sure there will be tests involved first.

Sorry you are going though this. I went that after a pretty bad concussion too. It is probably vertigo that you are experiencing. A dark quiet room can sometimes help. I had to dim the lights down and force myself to relax over and over each day. Eventually it does get better.

Doug I wish I had the time to lay down in a dark quiet room each day.

Hi, msshendo. I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling poorly. Is your upcoming appointment a follow-up on the spot the ER found at the time of your concussion, or is this a routine medical visit? Was your doctor made aware of those findings and did that issue get resolved? Your headaches seem to be quite severe, and now there are new symptoms. Your appointment is at least 5 days from now. In light of the background info., I'm thinking that the dr.'s office needs to re-evaluate your medical complaints, as well as immediately address your physical discomfort and concern. Please don't be shy about asking them to move up your appointment.

Thanks Wetters. My appointment for next week is my regular 3 month check up that I had to cancel in February because I was working. I will be bringing it up in detail and I will not be leaving until my concerns are addressed. I don't believe that the doctor feels it is as much as a concern as I do. Thus the reason for them putting it off. But believe me I will be addressing it.

msshendo,

Professional sports owners and officials are reluctantly coming to realize the importance of concussions and brain damage for their team players. The problem with concussions is they happen out of sight, whereas a broken bone or a dislocated joint is obvious for everybody to see. I hope your doctor will give you some satisfaction and can recommend something for your headaches.

Msshendo, I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling that great... This is certainly the place to vent, it's always tough playing the waiting game and the fear of the unknown. I hope you get some answers soon....
