I just need to have a little rant, before I drive myself insane. I've been ordering from one particular company since my incontinence started a couple of months ago. A few weeks ago I ordered a washable bed mat, that didn't arrive on the specified day, but didn't think too much of is as it was sent via Royal Mail instead of a courier, and the Royal Mail isn't exactly known for things arriving on time. Anyway, Yesterday (pay day) I ordered my next fortnights supplies next day delivery, as I only had enough nappies left for the rest of yesterday and today. As of right now, I have one nappy left, and my parcel still hasn't arrived. Spoke to the courier service who informs me that there has been a delay, and I won't receive my parcel until tomorrow, sometime between 7am and 9pm! I then rang the incontinence supplier, who said all they could do is refund me the difference between the next day delivery price and the 3 day deliver price. Thats no good to me!I can make the nappy I have on right now last until bedtime, if I cut right down on my fluids, and then wear my last one overnight. But what do I do tomorrow until they arrive?!

I was just about managing okay with my incontinence, telling myself that it's better to lose the use of my bladder, than the use of my legs. But right now, all I want to do is curl up in a ball and cry. But I can't even do that because curling up in a ball hurts too much.

Hi Cherylac

I do feel for you I too have had moments like yours where one wishes to cry and shout. I know this is easer said however life will become better over time. From reading your posts you are doing great so don't feel bad..

As far as supplies are concerned I never relay on the delivery date having been caught out in the same way so you are not alone. I now keep at least two packs of Molicare Super Plus unopened in storage for emergencies. I then keep to a normal supply of 4 packs (case saver) and reorder when opening the last of the 4. That being said Boots StaydryAttends is a great fall back if you or someone else can get to the shops rather than having nothing.

Keep smiling if you are feeling down just remember to look on the bright side of life you are among friends here.

Take care

It's only me and mum in the house, and she has a lot of arthritis herself. The car is in for repair, was supposed to get that today too, but it won't be ready until tomorrow. And my brother is useless, he won't do anything to help either of us, or my nan for that matter. He still, after 9 years, thinks I'm exaggerating how much pain I'm in on a daily basis, and he doesn't know about my incontinence. I don't want to give him something else to ridicule me about. I have what should be a months worth being delivered, so when I get down to half way, I'll re-order to make sure I'm not in this situation again. I already have a headache from not drinking enough.

I have been thinking about trying the molicare super plus, but I haven't yet been brave enough. I've heard good things about them, but their capacity isn't listed as being half as much as some of the others. In your opinion, do you think they'd be any good for someone with no bladder control at all?

Thank you for the encouragement, I do still feel like screaming and crying, but realistically know that will get me nothing but a sore throat. Finding this forum has been the only thing keeping me sane. I wasn't yet prepared to become totally bladder incontinent. I knew it would happen at some point, I just thought I'd have a few more years first, before it happened.

My incontinents is down to the message not reaching the brain on time. I too was not prepared however finding this forum was great to help with all the twists and turns. For me Molicare works for a few good gushes or a number of small ones. I always change at least three times a day regardless of usage to help with sweat in the diaper. If you are nervous you could ask for a free sample of Molicare and give it a go before ordering. I also like the colour even if I am male as it is better than white if for some reason the diaper sticks out.

I did wear Attends Diapers however Molicare is a superior product in terms of fit and style the tapes hold and the plastic does not rip under pressure. I found that the different Molicare sizes have a different capacity I wear the large and once I mastered the fixation it helped remove the stress of leaks.
I always wear stretch/compression pants on top to give the diaper a snug fit. Being a female you are lucky as skorts are ideal for this I do wish I could wear them in public.

My local Boots offers a prescription delivery service it might be worth giving your local Boots pharmacy counter a call to see if they can help with your predicament as it might be possible that a driver is in your area.

Don't stop drinking as this can cause other issues such as dehydration and can result in hospitalisation as I found.

Seeing all that you have to put up with in your life you are doing very well don't loose heart!!

Hope this helps.

Cheryl,

Do you have any towels that you can use for an improvised cloth diaper? I remember reading in the archives of this boad that one of our members got stuck on her boat and ran out of disposables, and ended up using a couple towels and a plastic garbage bag... maybe that would work?

That's the only thing that I can think of...

Peace out!

Rob

I will give Boots a call and see, it never hurts to ask right? And I think I'm going to have to ask mum if I can re-purpose some of the older towels...

An easier future solution is to get some cloth diapers/nappies and plastic pants. Keep them in an emergency spot and you will never be out of diapers again. Papa

So, my nappies should have arrived yesterday, but didn't. They guaranteed they would arrive today. By 3pm they still hadn't arrived, so I did the tracking thing. It was still saying delayed, so I once again did the live chat with customer services, and the woman said they wouldn't arrive until FRIDAY. Told her that was unacceptable as it was medical supplies, but she said there was nothing she could do. I finally got hold of a number to actually speak on the phone to a real person. Explained the situation, got put through to a manager and explained it all again. Said I ordered medical supplies on Monday next day delivery. Didn't arrive Tuesday, then on Wednesday they were saying Friday delivery. Told them I was out of my incontinence supplies thanks to their delivery issues, and did he want me to just sit in the shower until Friday so I didn't ruin any furniture.... an hour and a half later there was a delivery driver at the door with my parcel :D

Sometimes it just takes talking to the right person. I'm glad you got them.

It always is stressful when you are about to run out of diapers or other critical supplies, or, as you did, actually run out. That's doubly tough as you had planned ahead

I am anxious about that and so tend to stock more than I probably need to. My otherwise supportive wife is not so supportive when I use up too much storage space. She is, of course, correct (as all wives are) Admittedly, I worry about running out and tend to overcompensate. On the other hand, emotionally it makes me feel better.
