I currently use tena pads, although I am finding that I am wetting more, due to the colder weather,so have to change a few times, during the day. Does anyone know of a good nappy that would get me through the day without having to change so often.

If a pad is currently doing it for you, the next step up would be a pull-up. I usually wear a Tena pad inside my pull-ups as it gives me some more time between changes. For a good diaper for incontinence on the lighter side. I recommend Tena classic diapers. I've had great luck with them and they are extremely discreet and almost undetectable under clothing.

If you should need to change to taped diapers intended for lighter incontinence, the Tranquility Slimline is available in both plastic shell or a breathable shells - one of the few diapers to be offered this way. The Slimline is thin and very concealable. It was rated for a maximum absorbency of 22 oz, but one probably would not wait until that point before needing to change.

Thank you JD for your input. Always nice to know that are a few options available. I shall google the tena classic to see if i can get them here, in the UK although I haven't heard of the tranquility slimline. Would they be similar to the Tranquility ATN (all through the night.)
After the festive season, I shall go searching the high street and look in chemists and the healthcare shops, to see what adult diapers are available.
I prefer to buy through a shop rather than online, so that if there is a problem with fit etc, I can easily
get into the town to return them, and exchange for the right size.
I know my local chemist sells the Tena pants and I can sometimes buy what I need, although it involves looking around and generally going from one store to another, comparing price and product.
A few weeks ago, I discovered a medical store in Ipswich, that sells Abena and Abri-form, although these items are expensive, so I might leave these for now, then re-assess the situation at a later date as the tena pants contain my accidents at the moment.
I will look for the products you mentioned and price them here, as I'm sure they are expensive. thank you again for your help and concern.

The Tranqulity Slimline is the diaper intended for daytime use while the Tranquility ATN is promoted for nighttime use. The Slimline holds 22 oz while the ATN holds 32 oz. of liquid. Although the ATN is listed for night time, I have worn it it as a daytime diaper at home. The plastic shell of the ATN is rather noisy (which is fine at home), but o.k. for wear outside the home when covered by plastic pants and a pair of underpants worn on top as a silencer. Both diapers also are adequate for bowel incontinence.

Tena and Abena both are excellent brands of diapers. You should find a diaper that meets your needs and budget. Unfortunately, trial and error is necessary to find what works best and that is costly. Most long-time diaper wearers tend to economize on what we wear at home, e.g. wear the least expensive diaper that is effective for our needs. We tend to reserve our most efficient and costly diapers for wear outside the home and in social situations. For example, I prefer the relatively thin, very absorbent, and very concealable plastic-shell Tena Slip Maxi for use when wearing dress trousers to social situations.

I forgot to add that by buying all of my diapers by the case, I save almost 30% per diaper. That permits me to wear a slightly better quality diaper than otherwise. Also, when I learn that my favorite diapers are about to be discontinued, that allows me to stock up. I recently purchased two cases of the plastic-shell Tena Slip Maxi from Gary at XP Medical. The plastic shell is being discontinued. By reserving those diapers for use with dress clothes, I should have enough for more than a year. Of course, the price I pay is the annoyance of using up storage space.

I did the same with Molicare Super Plus, now they are phasing out the plastic backed version. I simply stocked up on supplies, same as for the Tena maxis....which I also use when having to dress in a suit for business meetings etc.

Unexpectedly, I found it helpful to wear a diaper rated for more absorption than I actually needed at the time. I think that the extra mat, particularly if it extends further into the sides, helps to make a better seal and reduce leaks. As I am bowel incontinent with bouts of bladder incontinence that benefits me both ways.

A secondary benefit is purely emotional - just the feeling of being a little better protected and not having to worry so much about such matters.

In the UK, where I live, you will find buying in shops much more expensive that shopping online. The suppliers I have used are fine and happy to help out on sizing etc. I've used Drylife, Hartmanns among others and you can probably get trial packs to try sizing.

As an alternative to the plastic-backed Tena Slip Maxi, you may want to try the Wellness Superio... they, like the maxi, tend to be thin, but absorb quite a bit. It may not be as much as the maxi, but it definetly holds its own.. no pun intended.. I am still undecided on whether i will be purchasing Tena Slip Maxi again.. since i only needed them for subsitute teaching days, and that was when my incon tended to be heavier.. I wonder if i need them again. Buying Tena Slip Maxi, or any extedned wear diaper for that matter, by the case is simply NOT an option with my reduced income.. i simply cannot afford spending upward of 100 dollars on diapers.. Mom would throw a fit if i spent that much..yes, even though im 31 years old, i am still on SSI, and my mom is my representative payee, and she manages my finances. By the way, i think with my walmart job i get roughly 170 per check..so, yeah.. a case of Tena slip would eat up most of my walmart paycheck... Therefore, even though it means paying for shipping.. I will continoute to buy extended wear by the bag.. Although i mgiht have to buy a case when i go away to camp next summer.. we shall see...
