So last week I hit my head on the corner of an overhanging cabinet while getting out of the chair. As it turns out I gave myself a concussion. And, I feel like I have lost what little control I had. For those of you in the medical field, have any of you heard of this or is this a possibility?

Sorry, msshendo. I guess I should have read down to the next topic before responding! I'm not a medical professional, but it wouldn't surprise me that a closed head injury would cause incon or make it worse. I'm sure that stress and anxiety (generally, and associated with an injury or illness) make incon worse, too. I'd give it a week or two, and if you don't get back to where you were pre-injury, call the doc. Also, I would bring it up at a follow-up appointment if you have one for the concussion.

Not sure. It could depend on how bad the concussion was and if there was any swelling. I would mention it to a doctor.

Urinary incontinence can be a symptom of concussion, post concussion syndrome, and subdermal hematoma (which can result from traumatic head injury). if your symptoms have gotten worse, you should definitely mention it to a doctor.
Where exactly did you hit you head?

I hit my head on the front top left. I was getting out of a chair and hit my head full force on an overhanging cabinet.

That area of the brain contains the premotor cortex, and primary motor cortex. Those areas are involved in phasing and carrying out voluntary muscle contraction.

That makes sense. I feel like I've lost the voluntary ability to retain. But at night I have no changes. Just weird.
