I wonder if the Depend employees were strong-armed to participate, or perhaps promised perks like cash/salary bonuses and/or gift cards. Either way, if it's for real, it smells a lot like hostile workplace/discrimination. Depend implies that the images on the campaign page are of employees ("Business As Usual" "... we wouldn't ask you to do anything we wouldn't do."), but perhaps the photos on the campaign page are models, and the downloaded photos (if any) are of employees and maybe a few regular folks. The poses and general attractiveness/sophistication of the people on the campaign page suggest to me that they're models.

May be over analyzing this but I am with wetters, I think it is all staged. The video of the factory is what gives me the most doubt. Depend used to be proud of the fact of made in the USA and had it printed on their vintage packaging. Now the packinging is done in Mexico I believe. Those workers did not look like Latino decent. Also, did you notice there are no heavy or obese workers? The thought crossed my mind when I was noticing everyone was in their underwear and how disturbing it would be to see someone that was 400 plus pounds.

Only Depend know the real reason behind this however I do have to agree with all of you. Being incontinent is a personal journey and as a medical condition should be treated as such! I would never dream of doing this in the UK. The removal of the stigma sould not be forced on the world, the world needs to accept it for itself slowly slowly inch by inch as this will last longer. I wonder how many celebs will join in and if they are truly incontinent!

We all suffer from the shame and embarrassment however I came across the below article and this is how our condition should be treated as a personal journey and being talked about on our own terms.

I suppose it's worth mentioning that, for what I can see, no one on the forum seems to have a kind word for Depends which I gather are some of the worst for absorbency!

Although well meaning, the company really doesn't understand what we feel. It is not that we wear diapers that is the real embarrassment or stigma. It is that we HAVE to wear diapers. People wear diapers to costume parties, or because (DL) they like wearing them. It is not the wearing of diapers that drives us into secrecy, that angers us, it is that we actually use them. Saying "I wear diapers" is a lot easier than saying "I need to change my soaked diaper." I can't ever see it being something that is just "Not a big deal." It is a big deal. Damn! Papa

Agreed, Papa. Taking a picture of yourself wearing a diaper to show solidarity with those with incontinence is a bit like taking a picture of yourself sitting in a chair to show solidarity with those who can't walk.

Good thought.....I like and appreciate their support and the idea behind it. I don't feel that it will be overly successful either. It's just too bold......I still have a hard time with the label incontinent. I just say "I'm having problems with my bladder" and leave it at that. I don't like to call undue attention to my plight.....I don't hide it, but I don't really want to go around with a neon sign advertising my diaper wearing either.

I don't think depend thought this campaign through enough. Yeah, granted it would be nice if there was no diaper stigma at all , but that will never happen because there are countless number of people who are very shallow and will take depends campaign as a silly joke. I think the word "stigma" is somewhat of a relative term, simply because in todays society, a lot parents don't want to educate their kids while they grow up and a lot of those kids don't ever mature. (though some do so I'm not saying all kids don't mature.) A lot of young and older adults these days are very judgmental/immature because they go through life thinking their invincible and that nothing bad will ever happen to them. I think when you get a lot of people in society that think that way is when the word "stigma" is thrown around.
