A couple things: I didn't read your post correctly the first time, about diapering with your amputation. Wondering if my comment sounded rude considering the intended context of your post. My apologies, good sir. (Slaps forehead)
Secondly, heck yeah! I too get a way better fit by laying down and putting my gear on. I just now discovered this. Was camping recently and had to change in a small tent, so I had no choice but to be laying down. I had avoided doing it this way because, well...it feels like I'm putting on a diaper. (That sounds silly, I know).
With laying down I seem to be able to get the thing underneath me, and around my thighs much snugger. Also, I can get the waist tight, and tucked, much neater and evenly. This is probably all common knowledge for everyone here but was an epiphany for me. I used to have a lot of leaks out the legs. With my improved routine I really don't need the extra cover pants and precautions I was doing. I haven't had a leak out of the diaper in over 2 weeks.
Just a thought I had, and made me think of this old post.
Thanks!
