I've been using Tena Flex and like them, I a dribble in small amounts when walking around and they can contend with that okay but when I'm in a sitting position my bladder holds quite a lot and upon standing my bladder lets outs and I gush in large amounts, now the Tena Flex can't contend with that and they leak, they don't seem to wick urine to the back of the pad either so you're left with a bulge and the back remains dry.

So I have brought samples of pads and because I'm big there isn't much choice in XL sizes.

I tried the Attends Regular Slip and instantly took a dislike to them because they look like a nappy and they are plastic so was reluctant to try it but I did and actually they are a really good pad because urine wicks to the back of it meaning less leakage but at the expense of feeling wet on one's bottom but for less leakage I can contend with that.

Do you go for less leakage and feeling wet or leakage and feeling dry?

Hi there have you had a go with the Molicare Premium Soft range I wear the Super/Super Plus and find this to be fantastic if I need to I add a booster pad for extra protection. I too find this when moving from sitting down to standing however with the protection I use I do not have too many issues. I do wear stretch/compression briefs with Terry briefs if I need to and a waterproof cover when in bed or out of the house (Molicare Spartan looks like normal fabric on the outside) I always go for feeling dry and less leakage.

I have tried Molicare in the past, not the new one though but because I'm a 48 waist I find the fit too small.

I've used Tena and Attends for a few years. Not the same exact diapers you're mentioning, but thought I may be able to offer some insight. Attends has excellent customer service, that being said, I've gone away from them for now. The reason I've gone away from them is that I've had problems with tapes ripping off. My other "go to" diaper is the Tena Classic. Tena is a great company and their diapers are notoriously very reliable. The Tena Classic is quiet, discreet and works well for me. I typically always make the toilet but leak after I make the toilet for 15-20 minutes. Usually until I have to go again. So I leak small amounts over long periods of time and don't ever have floods. That makes my choice in diapers pretty much wide open. Tena is also very breathable for those hot summer days. My suggestion is to stick with the Tena but go with a higher level of protection, perhaps the Tena Ultra or Tena Super will work better. I don't hear many people that are big fans of the Attends diapers despite their excellent customer service.

For me it's neither. I use Confidry24/7. They absorb a LOT, leaks are very seldom, and I never feel too wet even when my diaper is soaked.

I'm with Baby Brian on this - I use Dry 24/7 and don't leak or feel wet until the diaper (nappy) is at its considerable capacity. They cost more but last longer. Well worth the price. Remember, many of us order diapers from medical supply houses by the case. By so doing we get a substantial reduction in cost which helps us to purchase premium diapers.

As far as diapers (nappy's) looking like a nappy, it may sound harsh, but you need to get past that. It is a problem of style versus function. A good tabbed nappy is the most efficient form of absorbent product to eliminate leaks when worn properly. Plastic-backed nappys stretch less and contain odor better.
