You know all those times that it sucks to wear diapers? Sometimes it's better. Two recent examples from my life:

1) Went to a restaurant. This was a small place with only two toilets. The place was packed, and there was a line for both restrooms -- Men's and Women's. Did I have to worry about it? Nope.

2) Went downtown today so the kids could see Santa. Not a lot of public bathroom opportunities. When we got home, my wife really needed to go as she'd been holding it all afternoon. While I wouldn't be able to do that if I wanted to, it's also kind of comforting to think that I don't have to worry about it.

You are right on, Rocketman!

Most of us struggle with the downside of wearing diapers. For most there is such an aversion to the (repulsive) idea that you wet yourself that wearing a diaper does little to take away the aversion and adds the humiliation factor of wearing a diaper even when you accept that it is necessary to avoid wet pants and furniture while out and about.

I've been around a while and have seen a recurring thread where a positive spin gets put on diaper wear on boards like this one. And it's good to repeat the thread periodically, it well can bolster someone's flagging spirits by pointing out the obvious and sometimes not so obvious benefits of wearing diapers.

You bring out two recent examples from your life, Rocketman, while the recurring theme often includes movies, sporting events, theater, all things that involve sitting in one place for long periods of time while often consuming beverages, which for most, involve treking to a distant and sometimes less than clean rest room, while missing some of the action of the event being attended.

Cloth diaper wearers like to point out the comfort of wearing a padded seat so it is always there when needed for sitting on hard bleachers at the ball game.

I think it is all too easy to be down on ourselves and unhappy wearing diapers and take the "woe is me" approach with life handing us a bad break. But counting our blessings, as there are always people worse off than ourselves, if we can be normal and enjoy life by simply putting on a diaper, than wearing diapers is indeed a positive thing and there is nothing wrong with "enjoying" the benefits of not having to seek out a toilet in public, where I feel toilets (especially clean ones) are clearly an endangered species!

I have a list of places or situations where being diapered may be viewed as advantageous. I'll share a few...

#1) Any place there are "porta-potties".
#2) Concerts, festivals, sporting events, etc.
#3) The movies.
#4) The mall (especially at the holidays).
#5) Road trips.

Some people may think it is gross... but every time I walk past a line of people waiting for the toilet I'm glad I don't have to worry about it.

There are many times throughout each day when I'm glad that I am wearing protection. For me I have little choice no matter how many restrooms are in the area. If I am able to use a restroom I will but with my situation that is no guarantee that I'll stay dry. Wearing diapers is my choice for managing my incontinence so yes I am glad that I am wearing them when I need them. In my case the alternative is not a choice.
