Sandy,
I'm so proud of you! You made an excellent choice, too! I've ordered the exact same pull-up diaper in that style. It's very, very confortable. They are very thick and soft. When you wash these and put in the dryer, about half way trough the cycle, turn them inside out. This will help them dry better. I've not bought plastic pants from Loving Comfort before. The type you bought should last a long time. I've also bought lots of plastic pants from LL medico. Very good people. I don't wear the lace as you have ordered, but I've bought some of the baby print. (my wife will put up with those a little). I have a pair of blue stars that have lastest almost 2 years.
I'll bet your husband will be trilled with those pink frilleys! :P If you have any other questions as you start in your new diapers, just post a question. We'll all be glad to help!
Way to go Sandy!! ..........Paul

Sandy,
I forgot to answer your question on the inserts. I do use inserts when I wear that type diaper. The inserts I use, though, are baby diapers they sell in the infant department. I buy the 14" x21" size. Gerber makes these. A dozen comes in the package at about $12.00. A lot cheaper than the inserts Loving comfort sells. You'll have to experiment after your first night. I use two, one in front and one in back. Just depends on how you wet each night. On weekends, when I sleep in, I will add more. During the week nights, two inserts work well. I'll bet your husband can hardly wait! ......Paul

Howdy Paul
I was thinking I could use the normal boosters that I use now from Abri form or tranquility. I've never tried the baby diaper I take it you slice the back open to allow it to leak through to the big diaper? Yes My husband is still having fun with me about having lace plastic pants. He also got out that pair with the ruffles I almost killed him over some years ago. What is it about you guys that get excited about lace and ruffles? I got to wonder if I wear those how long are they going to stay on  enough said there. But then I guess it would look better then just a plain diaper that he's use to seeing me in. As long as we have been together(almost two decades now) he's never known me without some form of protection on. And I know that the diapers I wear have never been a high point for him. But he has always treated it as just another form of underwear. He's told me many times that he fell in love with the person before he ever new about the diapers. The diapers weren't even a bump in the road for him when he found out. He had told me he thought after we were dating for awhile that I may have had some sort of problem but he wasn't positive and like I said he was so in love with me it didn't matter anyway. Mind you neither one of us believed in sex before marriage......Sandy

Sandy,
The booster inserts that I was talking about are cloth baby diapers. My personal feeling is I want the softness of cotton around me if I'm wearing a cloth diaper. A disposable insert sort of defeats the purpose of going re-usable. As far as ruffles, I think men just like them because they look cute. I think of the innocence of a child when I see them. I know that sounds crazy. Sometimes men can have the weirdest reasons to get a turn on. What ever a husband and wife want to do behind closed doors is their business and nobody else.
You just need to wear them in front of your husband and let him take over. I think you'll both be glad of your decesion to wear a cloth diaper.
Just keep us advised. I hope other couples take this as well as you and your husband have. .................Paul

Hi Sandy,
I am so pleased you took the plunge and are going to try cloth diapers! The APD-3 from Loving Comfort is the best way IMO, to try cloth. You may find the five layer pull on adequate with no additonal boosting, but as others have said, boosting with baby diapers is the cheapest way to go. A dozen can be had for just a few dollars.

The plastic pants you are getting from Loving Comfort are Comco pants and they are a bit unique. They are a heavy vinyl, unlike most other plastic pants. Their waist band is one of the best! No one else offers as nice a waist band as Comco. I've only one complaint about Comco pants and that's the cut of the leg opening. For me, it doesn't provide quite enough coverage for the rear of the leg over my bulky prefold pin on diapers. They'll be fine, I would guess over the diaper pant-but that brings up the issue that Comco pants are big for the size. I wear a Large pant for most plastic pants except Comco, where I need a Medium, there is that much difference!

As a woman, I suspect you might lean toward "dainty" which ain't Comco. I recommend Babykins vinyl pants for two big reasons. The waist and leg elastics are a very gentle, comfortable Lycra band! The basic Babykins plastic pants are made from a vinyl so thin you'd think the pants are made from silk. Really! You've got to experience them. If I've talked you into it, scrool back to where I wrote you about plastic pants and the URL is right there to take you to the page. Believe me, I think you are going to abandon the Comco pants once you try the delacate and light Babykins pants that will work so well over the pull on diaper. Think how nice the soft pink will look 8)

And yeah, I'm close to dancing in the street, but need to wait until I find out if we are truly sucessful-ie-do you like the cloth and are you going to stay with it! In truth, others have tried cloth; dislike the bulk, dislike the feel of cloth when wet, dislike the sag of cloth when wet, dislike the "billow" tendency of plastic pants, dislike the diaper pail, dislike the diaper laundy. Blew a bunch of money on cloth diapers only to return to and stay with disposables!

As for spending, as you point out, you spent more for one cloth pull on than for a case of 72 disposables! So now you need to see how you like the feel of cloth and give it a good test before buying more. The three pants you got will keep you going for just overnight wear. They will dry "hard", with three terry layers within the birdseye. Do not "cook" them in the dryer! Remove them while still damp and finish drying on a line-yeah, another hassle to cloth!

Sandy, you've been great about all this and actually trying cloth! Kudoos for you and I'm waiting to hear the reports and the results!

Joe K

Sandy,

HELP!

You reported you ordered from Loving Comfort recently. I've got a guy on the Yahoo board posting that he can't get thru to Loving Comfort and is worried that they are defunct! He wants to try their pull on diaper pants.

Would you please post the phone number you used and perhaps who you talked to if you did order by phone.

Thank you!
Joe K

Sandy,
JoeK may have something there. I have ordered several times from Loving Comfort, but tried to order from them this past early spring. I could get no e-mail replys nor any answers from their phone number. I finally gave up and ordered my pull up diaper from LL Medico.
Check them out. If you ordered on line, you most likely didn't have a clue to what's going on. Did you get a confirmation e-mail back that your order was received? Be carefull, Sandy. Post back to Joe and/or me to get any other info. Good Luck!! ................Paul

Sandy,
When I tried to order from them back in January of this year, I never received an e-mail confirmation back. They said to contact them back by phone or e-mail. I did both and never got a response. I ended up sending them an e-mail cancelling the order. I tried their 800 number and their regular phone line. Really upset me since I gave them my Visa number.
Anyways, Sandy, I would suggest to try e-mailing and/or calling them to confirm your order. If no response, I would cancel the order and go else where. When they did ship to me, it took about 3 to 4 weeks the first time, and the last order took 16 weeks!
If you want to cancel and order else where, post me back and I'll suggest who I used to replace Loving Confort. It's a shame since they made really good products! I'll get you in cloth diapers yet. .....Paul
