A side effect on restricting fluid intake is constipation, which actually can make the incontinence worse.
2 liters a day is a little over what is necessary on a normal day. I have been recommended from my gp 1,5 liters a day, and the water in food is included in this. So a bowl of cereal represents fluid intake as well.
Due to my mental condition, I sometimes forget to drink, so I have developed some routines to keep track of it.
I usually check the colour of my diapers when I change them. If they are dark in colour, I need more water.

It is also worth noticing that too much water drains the body of minerals. Too little potassium can be dangerous.

Our body is usually fantastic to tell us what we need.
