That is an interesting thought pappa has. I have a hard time even imagining life without a diaper  I'm thinking I would have no problem with the convenience idea being I've been in them most of my life anyway :?: ................................Sandy :)

Two interesting and opposing thoughts. On one hand we have John who still feels diapers are a stigma - a strong word; a Mark a Poxe - and finds it totaly unacceptable accept as a medical situation.
Then there is Sandy, who seems totaly accepting of" life as it is". "I have worn and used diapers most of my life" and from all I know of her she dosen't let it get in her way in the least.
After 7 years in diapers I am finally accepting the "life as it is" attitude. I definately find there are times when diapers are convient - not that I have much choice - would I wear them if I didn't have to under certain conditions? I would say Yes. I have a whole different attitude now. Wearing and using a diaper 8 years ago would have been laughable. Today I have a different attitude. It's JUST A DIAPER - not a Stigma or Mark upon you. Let's hear more on this. Papa

Papa,

I associate diaper stigma with with lack of acceptance. If you become incontinent over night due to an injury it takes a little time to before your able to wrap you mind around wearing diapers. Coming to grips with wearing diapers requires some degree of acceptance which means you have to over come any stigma you may have about wearing diapers first.

Wearing and using diapers "soley" for convenience is not a medical reason requiring someone to wear diapers for protection. That said,....there is a physical and/or mental need to wearing diapers.

I think that we, as users of adult bladder control products, have a general view of using said products that isn't shared by the mainstream population. And really, who cares. Simply because my underwear happens to be plastic does not in anyway shape or form minimize my contribution to society.

The stigma attached to people with medical problems in this country staggers the mind sometimes. I see using the diapers as confronting my problem head on and taking steps to control it rather than letting it control me. Others would see that there is something wrong with me and therefore less than capable.

Hi all very good forum as stated before my incontinence started slow with prostate problems and could times go without protection but more wettings led to using diapers always at night and alot during the day due to meds which cause havoc on me.I'am not a d/l a/b but the diaper saves me alot and lets me be "normal"

Having to wear diapers now 24/7 I feel at ease wearing them. I have also found them to be quite useful at times. I have a very secure feeling when Iam out and about now and don't see any stigma about their use. Would I wear them for convenience if I did not need to, I think I would, I mite feel a little strange without them. To me this is a small bump in the road of life. What matters the most is your own view of having to wearing diapers.

Thanks to all for the commentary. I'm still working on getting used to my incon. And while I find the AB/DL thing a bit odd, like others have said if it's their thing and they don't meddle in forums like this, then so be it.

Many of the AB/DL people would love to meddle here :? our leader won't allow it and us moderators won't stand for it either  Over the years I've seen many a board get over run by that crowd. This is not to say everyone in that crowd is bad. ..........................Sandy :)

I would consider myself a relatively active member of the AB/DL community and I can't stand a lot of the others. There is a huge lack of maturity, intelligence and taste within the community... most of the boards are filled with garbage and flat out lies, and the moderators don't seem to care.

I've got some friends who are great people, lots of fun, its just that there are some bad apples spoiling the barrel.
