Disposables are so expensive, but cloth is complicated and requires regular washing on top of regular laundry. There comes a time when one wonders is the dollar amount I save in theory worth the extra hassle with cloth? I'm not sure at this point. The washing machines in our apartment building quit working, and thus it is a no go for cloth use. I have a posideon washing machine in my apartment, but there is no spin cycle. However, it is lightweight. A spinner is on the way to us. There has GOT to be an easier way to wash cloth diapers...
I've always maintained that the ideal washing machine (for diapers) is the old fashioned ringer washer. They're rugged and last forever and have no spin cycle. The clothing is wrung through the ringer (just be careful). They can still be had, perhaps free from the right sources.
If I ever go cloth, it will be because I am in a living situation where I can use a wringer washer.
