Which is the lesser of two evils .. One .. Drinking too much liquid and paying the price of increased incontinence. Two .. Not drinking enough (to avoid the issue of increased voiding) AND ?? Inviting an entire host of (some extremely serious) medical problems.

It all boils down (for me that is) to this : I have this issue and I don't advertise it nor am I ashamed of it (basically a lifetime issue) BUT I AM NOT GOING TO RISK MY HEALTH BY NOT DRINKING SUFFICIENT HEALTHY LIQUIDS.

So I drink what I need to drink with my health in mind with no regard to the increased voiding.

I believe there is a place for a middle ground. I know for example that if I drink a coffee at night (decaffe) I will float away in the night. Omitting that extra coffee, I can safely get through the night and still have plenty of urine production overnight (implying sufficient hydration).

But when out in the sun or working in the heat, I would agree that you don't want to skimp on hydration.

I am with you , I drink what I need when needed and I always have appropriate protection on. My rule Stay hydrated, Stay protected, Stay healthy !
