As I mentioned in an earlier post, I was going through some heart tests to determine the cause of some symptoms I have been experiencing. It all started over two weeks ago with a variety of tests the last one being a heart catheterization/angiogram. That, along with a holter monitor indicated an electrical problem rather than a plumbing one. Something called intraventricular myocardial bridging. I was suppose to get an appointment with the first cardiologist I saw that specializes in electrical problems with the heart. That was over two weeks ago, and no call. I made several calls only to have to leave a message. I found out that the cardiologist retired, and his nurse has been ill. I finally made contact with a different registration person, and have been scheduled to see a different cardiologist on Aug. 6th. Another two weeks. As a result my, and my wife's anxiety levels have increased dramatically. And, as you might think this issue doesn't help my incontinence...more diapers. I'm kind of afraid of what I can or cannot do. Can I exercise, can I have a cocktail or two (it hasn't stopped me yet). This whole thing may be minor, but until I know for sure I'm very frustrated.

dp66,

If I were you, I would be a little cautious of my activities until you've met your new cardiologist. It's ONLY two weeks so unless your training for the Olympics, or the plan to run the Boston marathon, I would dispense with ANY type of program (physical, or otherwise) that would, or could affect your heart rate to include the indulgence of alcohol.

I'm not a doc, but hearts are a funny thing,....either they work properly, or they don't. There's just not much room for error here, but this is just my opinion. If a doc gave you this opinion they would send a bill that would make you feel worse then you would want that cocktail you spoke about to make you feel better and cause you to use more diapers.

dp66 - I don't have experience with heart issues but I do have experience with doctors and waiting. I know how frustrating it is and I'm sorry you are having to deal with all that. Try as much as you can to just take it easy until you see your new doc. Hope things turn out well for you.

when it comes to health issues waiting and the unknowns can be very frustrating. but its best to try to take a breath and relax (easier said than done) but the added stress can really make you feel worse, try to find things that are relaxing and are able to take your mind off the worries. take care and keep us posted.

This Thursday I should have more answers. I do know that I have intervantricular myocardial bridging. I don't think it's serious, but won't know until Thursday. Thanks for all the positive thoughts.
