I received my sample of the swimmates today. They sent me the mediums. I tried them in the shower and they were gaping in the bottom. They filled with water. Is that normal? I reordered another sample in size small. Hopefully that corrects the issue. I'd like to be able to use these during my upcoming vacation. Summer will be here before we know it as well.

Yeah that was normal for me too. I normally wear a large, but ordered their mediums. When swimming they catch that water drag and get dragged back- right off of you. They kept falling off me so much I had to stop swimming and hold it up with one hand. I ended up tossing the rest out since they aren't good for even a short time of use during the day. Personally I think Depends pullups make a better swim diaper than the swim mates do.

I would be very hesitant to wear a real fit into the pool. They are NOT made for bowel incontinence in the least. They almost aren't made for incontinence at all. The fluff would also fall apart in the pool. I don't think the pool management would appreciate that. They specifically say in their pool rules "no disposable diapers ". I called northshore and they recommended a small. So I ordered a sample pack of those. I have a speedo swimsuit I can wear over the swim diaper if I have to. That will probably keep it from sagging. I can just wear my board shorts over that.

I did an at home test of my swimmates diaper with my speedo suit. I used the last medium that I had. The suit pressed the diaper closer to my body and solved the gaping problem it seems. A small should work even better.

I'm wondering whether I could use only the swimmates. Whether it's secure enough because I have quite large bowl accidents. The sosecures plus the swimmates does really well and there's no reason to forgo it, but it would be more convenient and discreet. The problem is that because it's so right around there's no space for a bowel accident like a normal diaper so when I have an accident it spreads a little >.<

Mia, you could try giving it a trial run at home before you venture out in public. Just to see if it holds. I think wearing both the sosecure and the swimmates would be noticeable under a woman's form fitting suit. I'm pretty sure the bulge will show and give you away. I believe in function over form but it's all in what you feel comfortable with. I know I wouldn't want to be embarrassed and made fun of, although nobody has. I tend to not worry about what other people think and I wear what is comfortable. The swimmates by themselves may be worth a try.

Yeah, I guess I could give it a try. Actually never thought of it because I would have to wait till I have an accident. But I suppose it will be good to try and see.
The bulge probably does give me away, but I tend to focus on swimming when I do go.
Thanks,

Mia, like you said, I'm there trying to focus on having fun with my wife and kids to worry about diaper bulge. I am sure that when the sosecure fills with water in the bottom, it's pretty evident through my bathing suit that I am wearing some kind of diaper. Also, no matter how hard i try to pull my shorts up, the pool water just pulls them right back down and the top of the swim diaper shows. I try to fix it but my efforts are futile. I try not to worry. I just want to have fun.

I this case unfortunately I think it just is what it is. It's going to show. One way or another. Hopefully you just enjoy your time with your wife and children.

That is kinda my attitude. I know it's going to show. I try to minimize it as best I can. But I'm not always successful. I agree with Mia that it is functionality over form. What good does it do me to worry about hiding it so much that it leaks? It is what it is. I feel the same way about my regular diapers. I wear Dry 24/7 with a booster pad, PUL cover and generally a concealer (onesie). I generally wear whatever clothing I feel comfortable in. I don't worry about other people. Most are not concerned with my underwear. Anybody who is probably wouldn't confront me anyway.
