John,

ive been set up to recieve enough diapers to use 5 a day, which is 150.. i thought medicaid would cover every diaper J&B medical carreies.. it doesnt. it will cover wing suprme, Select by tranquility, and attends. Today went well.. i went to the bathroom before i started my shift.. i had a "mini flood" where i did't empty my bladder all at once, but there were several small spurts of urine.. what was amazing is..as far as i can tell.. the dignity booster i was wearing in the depend brief soaked up all of it.. the brief itself wasnt even wet.. it was completely dry to the touch.. looks like dignity is THE booster to use.. i dint even have to change the diaper..

I talked to the ppl at J&B medical again.. they are going to send attends breathable and attends 8.. to see what i like best.. so far.. my vote is for wings supreme.. it seems adequate.. again, i dont want to cut out toilet use..If i did, id have to wear abena... and we all know how expensive those are.. the diapers im using for the most part are doing a fine job keeping my accidents contained.. i see no reason to go ultra-heavy.. especially since i will also be recieving a free pair of plastic pants ech month..

I'm not at the point of giving up the toilet yet.. and i hope i never do get there..

Rob,

I just go with the flow.....LOL LOL LOL LOL. If you decide on Wings for right now, I'm sure you can change your mind and order something different when its time to re-order. 4-5 diapers a day is probably what most people use depending on the type of incontinence they have. 5 is plenty for me as I described in my last email. For me, its all about the fit, and how much they will hold. I need a diaper that will not leak and last 4-6 hours in the day without adding a booster pad, or have any bulk that anyone can notice. I use the booster pad for extend use like at night, or in the day when I'm out and not able to change for several hours. NO WAY will I change in a public rest room. I'm not saying I've never done this, but ONLY on an extream emergency will I do that. I keep a few extra diapers in a bag in the trunk of my car just in case I go some place and need to change. You might want to do the same just in case.

John, answer me this..compared to depend.. how do wings supreme rate?

John,

What diaper do u use? Medline, right? Yeah, J & B medical doesnt have those.. i have a feeling i wont like tena large either.. the tapes seemed a bit on the small side.. have you tried tena? what was your experence with it? myself, ive always seemed to prefer diapers with 3 tapes..thus my reason for choosing wings supreme. when i compared tena ultra with wings supreme.. both seemed adequate.. but.. i like the way wings fit better than the way tena fit. maybe i put tena on to tight..but i think wings supreme beats tena hands down on fit.. isnt fit as important as absorbency?

Depends vs. Wings? mmmmmmmmmmmm I think I would go with the Depends over the Wings. Yes, I use the Medline Ultra now ...Medline # MSC97000. Besides the fit, and the amount of fluid this diaper will hold without leaking, I also like the tapes. I'm soaked now with no booster pad and still no leaks. Sometimes you can find the right protection with a good fit then the tapes give way and don't work. I HATE that! The tapes on the Medline I'm using have a landing zone. LOL The diaper has a cloth like outside, except for the area where the tape secures to the diaper in the front....the landing zone. Yes, there are 2 tapes on each side, but each tape is secured in place on plastic area in the front of the diaper. The plastic holds the tape in place very well so it doesn't break lose. Keeping the tapes secure is just as important as the other things I've mentioned. Try a few of the Medline diapers and see what you think.

John,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunatly, as good as medline may be, my i insuarance will not pay for them. This is what i plan to do: they are sending samples of attends 8 and attends breathable and tena ultra large, and i will see from there what diaper works best and fits best. Again, i am probably going to use the wings supreme. i will be getting plastic pants also,so that should take care of any leaks should i accidentally flood the diaper more than it can handle.. i do have some control over how fast the diaper gets wet.. although sometimes i cannot stop wetting altogether..i can clench so not all comes out at once..give the diaper time to absorb. which is why i have a hunch that wings supreme will be just fine..

Rob,

Sounds good. Let me know how the Wings work out.

well... they sent me tena ultra large.. attends 8 and attends breathable..

Clearly, tena large is too big.. the wing wrapped all tthe way around the thigh and touched the buttocks. attends 8.not a bad fit.. but i dont like the dual tape system.. and they had tape popping..

Attends breathable.. not bad.. my only concern other than lack of a waistband is the backsheet and tapes are a bit easy to tear.. i havent tested absorbency...

its a close call between attends breathable and wings supreme..

Rob,

Yes, the fit is very importantas you know, but so are the tapes. You can hve a great fitting brief what good is it if the tapes don't hold. Are you really sure you will need to wear plastic pants? I'm wet more than you and I don't use them. I know there are a lot of people that do use them for that feeling of security, but if you are using the right brief, I really don't hink you need them. I would recommend you find the best brief fisrt and then see what you think.

John..

Plastic pants are more or less a prophylactic, "just in case." I asked for them because one time the brief i was wearing did leak..and should i not be wearing a liner when i get a flood..the diaper may leak.. im not taking any chances.. it may be overkill..but if insurance covers it.. ill take it..yes, you wet more than i but keep in mind. you are using better quality diapers than i am.. and.. our incontinece needs are different.. you wet small amounts all the time.. sometimes i lose small amouts, sometimes i lose moderate amounts.. and sometimes the loss is large.. ive been wearing boosters to work..
