For me personally, I have found the pricing of most AB-oriented products too exorbiant to buy considering what my needs are. Unlike some of you, I don't have complete loss of control and can vary between moderate and heavy output. The sole exception is the ABU Preschool diaper, with the manufacturer-reported absorbency equivalent to somewhere between an M3 and M4 for Abena, and a very good price point. 108 dollars for a case of 80. That is actually a lower price than ConfiDry, and a larger quantity. Keep in mind though the total absorbency is lower than ConfDry. I almost never use any premium diaper to its saturation point.. when i wear premiums as extended wear i usualyl change when the scenario that required longer wet wear time has passed. My rule of thumb is don't push extended wear if you don't have to. Using this rule, i have seemed to mostly avoid rash..knock on wood. Preschool seems to be an ideal diaper for this kind of use...a decent midrange diaper overall. My only complaint is the tapes sometimes don't stick, but I havent had that on every diaper. They recently came out with an all-plastic backed version (their origional was a cloth backed with a frontal landing zone w/sticky tapes.) which i plan to sample when i have the means to. Right now, my premium disposable inventory consists of ConfiDry and ABU preschool. I used to use Abena for my extended wear go-to, but when I realized I could get more per case with ConfiDry, I decided to give them another try. I'm pleased to report that all of my past complaints about them have seemed to be not as much of an issue. The tapes stick fairly well, though they still tend to rip the shell off when the diaper is being removed..id take it off close to a garbage can if its totally saturated just in case.. and they have yet to leak on me. Perhaps all along i was wearing a size too small, or maybe now I'm a size large, they fit my body better? either way, im not complaining. In fact, im wearing one right now as I type this. I found them to be more comfortable than Abena with their front and back waistbands and larger tabs, but i digress..

Peace out!

Rob

I have been experimenting with some super absorbent "specialty market" diapers when I have travel or a special event that needs just a bit more absorbency than I get from my usual ConfiDry 24/7. I have tried the Bambino Bellissimo, but right now I am trying out the ABU Simple. This diaper has a plain white shell with a front taping panel and an ISO absorbency rating of 5,000 ml.

My complaint with the ABU Simple and most diapers that use front taping panels is that the lower tapes have been moved upward. For me, that makes it difficult to get the best fit for my shape. I reinforce the tapes and add extra tape lower down where the lower tapes normally would be. In contrast, the Dry 24/7, without a taping panel, fits perfectly. Although diapers like the ABU Simple cost more, I only use one about every two weeks so the expense is not too bad.

I got the small 8 pack of the all white ones to try for sleeping. I didn't like them. Leaked so bad it was like I wasn't even wearing protection. Right or wrong, I've written them off as junk novelty products.

Do you know where and/or how they failed for you so badly?

For me, it is almost always at the leg gathers, where the wings meet the core (at the top front & back of the legs). Though some times also over the top waist band too. This is always the same for any diaper design which does not have lower tapes (and uses a tape landing zone). Every one of them will leak on me long before reaching any kind of capacity. One big caveat though, they absolutely do work as advertised IF I make sure I squeeze into one that is a size too small. I've personally never cared for this though, and had to write them off as junk too.
