Sociologygeek,

Yes, I use the Abena Delta Form. I agree that it's a relatively thin diaper. I can see why others might have issues with it. For example, I read your recent post in which you mentioned 16oz to 32oz voids, and thought, "Man, I almost never have that kind of volume." I'm sure the X Plus would be a better option for guys like yourself, who have floods.

My needs are pretty different. I have chronic, non-bacterial prostatitis, which causes urgency, frequency, and post-void dribbling. When my symptoms are acting up, I have an incessant, low-level urge to urinate. I often experience intense urges for 10ml voids. My mean void volume is well below 100 ml. No matter the volume, I always have post-void dribbling because of my prostate issues.

Here are my options as I understand them:

1. Ignore the urges. This results in constant discomfort. It's awful.

2. Use the restroom constantly. The problem here is that the combination of frequency and post-void dribbling results in chronically-damp underwear. My position is that giving into urinary frequency is only worthwhile if it actually keeps you dry. In my case, I get wetter every time I go.

3. Wear diapers. Personally, I've found that this is the best solution. In my case, this means frequent, small-volume releases into a diaper. The Delta Form works very well for this.

Interesting Noe..

I do have floods, but i also have small spurts several in a row like you seem to be describing. I have a neurgenic bladder of the underactive variety so i never know what kind of day it will be.. thus i always pad up loaded for bear, only wearing hte chieaper diapers at home. I'm waiting on samples of Tranquility ATN Abena Abri San and Norshshore supreme, and COnfi dry.. It looks like there may not really be a "cheaper" alternative to Abena that perfoms the way i need it to if hte absorbency reasearch im doing is any indication. Time will tell. I seem to be flooding less since ive started cathing so maybe i can get away with a lighter extended wear diaper. Time will tell.

Peace out!

Rob

Don't forget that "cheaper" is on a per-day basis, and not per-diaper. A more expensive diaper that lasts longer (and performs better) may likely end up costing you less overall.

I ordered a sample of the atn as I was curious if I could go back to relying on and using it. and i am thoroughly disappointed with the newish tranquility atn. That thing barely holds even a single wetting now! And it seems like they narrowed the brief crotch which is quite unfortunate and it doesn't wick as well as it used to.
I will have to stick with northshore for now

Does anyone know if there are any decent somewhat cheap diapers that actually hold a couple wetting? The tranquilits atn barely holds even 1 wetting (much of the diaper gets unused as it can't distribute the wetness)
I am going on cruise in about a month and with the more frequent changes I just want something bit cheaper and maybe slightly thinner than my normal diaper that holds at least like 2 wettings with no problem

Cheap is usually synonymous with thin, but not with absorbent. For two plus full wettings you're going to need something more like molicare supers (if you can find them), or xp absorbency plus. Or better.

Honestly though, you'll probably be best sticking with a good premium diaper like northshore supreme. They start off pretty thin, but will swell up when wet like every other decent diaper out there. Plus, their ability to hold two plus wettings means they will last longer which then means they will overall cost less too. Plus, you'll only need to take along three dozen diapers instead of four dozen.

Good to know, thanks for posting. The VA gets my diapers from XP so I'd hate for that to get messed up with new ownership!
