Justej,

Maybe you're using the wrong size, maybe its too small? I remember having this issue when i tried the a+ diaper.. turns out im between a medium and a large.. i trialed a size regular, and it fixed the problem.. hope this helps!

Peace out!

Rob

Call XP Medical and talk to Gary. Gary will take care of the problem and send you replacement diapers for free. Just let him know what's going on.

I'm sure this will help resolve your problem.

I second the sizing. If you're in between their available sizes, its always best to go with the larger size. This will not only affect how high up they ride, but also the width of the seat, crotch, etc. It's when these dimensions are too tight that you start getting blow outs and tapes ripping apart.

Also make sure you're not taping them on too tight. They should be just snug enough to get a couple of fingers under the leg gatherers, and four fingers under the waist band.

Of course, if they are ripping apart before you're even done taping them on, then that's just a manufacturing error or poor design. Get the replacements, and if it keeps happening you will need to switch to a better brand.

I agree in not putting them on too tight, but for another reason.
I had many years ago the habit of putting them on very tight around my legs.
I was afraid of leaks. I ended up with pressure ulcers. Red, almost open wounds.
That is a bigger problem than leaks. It was extremely painful to wear diapers until the sores healed.

i dont think they are too small because i went through 2 whole packs without any problems.
maybe im putting them on too tight i dunno.
i really like the xp diapers because they are the only ones that dont leak on me.
ill try putting them on looser.
and i really cant see me going up a size because im wearing a large and my hips dont exceed 50 inches. im about a 44

Don't forget that diapers are not sized based on hips. The manufacturers make them based on your waist line instead (usually around your belly button where the top of the diaper should be extending up to). I've heard of plenty of people who underestimate their sizing because of this, then wonder why they keep ripping or have tapes popping off.

However, it does sound like you've got the right size. I'm a 38 pant size and absolutely need large diapers because my waist is 44 (yeah I'm overweight). You probably do just have a bad batch in that case.

If you don't mind me asking though. Where and how are your diapers ripping? Are the tapes completely separating from the wings, once taped on is the plastic tearing apart right at/near the tapes, or some other area? Also, is it happening right as you're taping it on, or after wearing it for a little bit?

Most manufacturers say to take the larger of your waist or hip size

im thinking bad batch because i just put one on and its fine.
brian - the tapes were actually ripping after i put if on. like off the diaper.
i cant imagine id need an XL. that just seems like it would be too big.
ive worn a large in every other diaper (including a+ the last time i wore them) since ive started wearing over a year ago.
ill call gary and see what he says.
